Some time ago, when I first began asking about our upcoming vacation, a few people had mentioned shipping our daughters' (she'll be just over 18 months then) diapers and what-nots ahead of us to save suitcase space (and packing sanity).

How do you do that? I will be staying at POR in Sept and thought I may try to send down her diapers, wipes, juice boxes, etc so the suitcases won't be so ridiculously heavy and over packed.

I think you can just box it up and stick it in the mail about a week to 10 days before you leave and it will be waiting for you when you arrive. Make sure you put your name on the box and the date you arrive. You might even call the resort and tell them you shipped it.

We thought about doing this too. But when we booked our transportation from MCO to WDW, the towncar service advised us to make a grocery stop and buy our stuff down there. Of course, if you're using Disney's Magical Express you couldn't make a grocery stop. But if you're using a towncar service, you may find it more convenient to buy your stuff in Orlando.

I would just pack an extra suitcase for the diapers and wipes and then use that to take home all the stuff I just have to buy. I am going to pack a suitcase with my DS PopTarts and chips and use that for extras on the way home.

We have done this many times.

I would call the resort just to be sure, but they will have you address the box to the resort to the attention of yourself with your reservation number and arrival date.

At the AKL they brought us our box right at check-in, the next year at the Beach Club, we just had to call bell services and they delivered.

I always used UPS 3 day select, its not too expensive and you can ship four days ahead of time and you package will be there for you.

We do the extra peice of luggage. That way it is empty (to fill up with goodies)on the way home.

I once packed a box (diapers, etc.) and checked it with our baggage on the flight. Back then it didn't occur to me to ship it ahead of time. Checking it worked fine too, and then we just had less to travel with on the way home. I do like the idea of ending up with an extra empty suitcase for the flight home too, though.

My wife has back problems and doesn't do car trips well so I'm thinking about shipping her to WDW.
