All Stars Music Resort

Who has stayed in the All Star Music Resort? How much different is it than the All Stars Movies Resort?

Thanks
Jen

They are pretty much identical except for the themes.

Re: All Stars Music Resort

I stayed there in 2000. It's the same set up and lay out as the music, but with a disney movie theme. Please note that you share buses with the other two All star resorts and you are the last to be picked up and dropped off at movies. I had a nice stay there, but would suggest you pay the extra money for the preferred rooms so you aren't really far away. My DD and I stayed in the mighty ducks building and it was a pretty far walk to get to the bus stops and eating area.

Re: All Stars Music Resort

I'm sooooo happy to be back on this site. You just don't know. But anyhow let me ask you something else....Is it worth the $100.00 to get a town car to drive you to your resort? I know they have the new bus transportation but someone was saying I should take that $100.00 and upgrade to a moderate resort. I'm sure it's more than $100.00 to upgrade. And how fun are the moderate resorts for kids? I'm sooo happy to go back to Disney I can't stand it. Well I can but my co-worker is ready for me to go tomorrow so I will stop talking about it. Little does she know I'm gonna talk about it for months after I come home.

Thanks
Jen

Re: All Stars Music Resort

Welcome back to DC Jen, glad to see you posting again. I hope you stick around. I'm not sure about the whole town car thing, but I can give you my opinion about the ASMu. I've stayed at the Music and Movies twice each, and I prefer the Music better. I think the pool themeing is better, and I just think the hotel grounds are nicer over all. When it comes to the rooms, the size is the same, it just depends on what theme you want. Welcome back again!

The towncar is a nice touch, but the ME is free. I would go with that and splurge on something while there with the $100. A moderate will be more than $100...think along the lines of $50ish a night different. Stay at the Value, and treat you and your DS to something extra with the $100.

Re: All Stars Music Resort

I think I'll do that and do something special. But you can take the town car just one way and use Disney to go back to the airport right?

Thanks
Jen

Re: All Stars Music Resort

Yes Jenny, you can use DME only one way if you prefer. I think I'd prefer the towncar round-trip over the risk and hassle of DME (that's what we're doing) but it's totally up to you! Whatever you think will work best for you.

I hope you love Music if you stay there; that's where we just made ressies too!

In what order are the AS resorts picked up on the buses?

It used to be Sports, Music & then Movies. But I could have sworn the last time I was there they each had their own bus stops now...but I haven't seen anyone mention it here (and we stayed at POP, so I'm not sure...) so maybe I'm mistaken. If they still share buses, then that's the order!

Re: All Stars Music Resort

There are generally less kids at Music than Movies. Music, to me, has a more romantic feel than Movies. I have stayed at both, but I like Music a little better. Both are great for kids, but kids will probably like Movies better.

Re: All Stars Music Resort

The last time few time we stayed at ASM's & ***'s (2001 & 2002) they had their own busses.
Instead of spending the $100 for a town car we usually rent our own car for about $140 for the week and we make up the money by going to the grocery store when we first get there and we usually buy bread, peanut butter and a box of cereal for my DS so we don't need to eat breakfast out everyday. We buy a carton of milk & toast some bread in the food court in the morning and this makes it quick and easy. We do use disney transportation to go to the parks in the morning but having our own car makes it easier to go to DTD or to miniture golf. We also can go out to dinner off property some nights and my DBF loves to go to Old Town on Saturday nights for the classic car shows.

Re: All Stars Music Resort

we stayed at ASMu for our last trip and yeah the only difference is the theme of the resort, compared to ASMo. you get the same great service and have lots of fun in the themed pools and checking out the themed buildings.

Re: All Stars Music Resort

For those of you that have stayed at the All Star Movies and the All Star Music I have another question. Last time we stayed in the Toy Story Building and I was wondering if that is the same distance to the bus loop as the Rock in Roll Building to the bus loop.
