ASMu dilemma
Somebody, just tell me I'm going to like All-Star Music!
LOLASMu was the only Value available with the MYW/free dining package, and that's totally cool with me...but Movies was our first choice and Sports our second. I didn't really think we'd have to go with our 3rd choice. Suddenly I'm afraid I'm not going to like it! I know that's so dumb...I thought the same thing about Movies last time, and I adored it...but I've just got that yucky unsure feeling. Hey, question: do they play music in the different areas of All-Star Music, to match the themes of each building?

Re: ASMu dilemma
DG, Music is just ok, after me and DW last trip I cant stand them. But I'm at the point where I'd even stay there just to be at wdw.
SO music was the 3rd choice?? Funny, sports woulda been mine. Its not a bad resort, just too big, holiday inn type buildings and rude cm's. Oh and the best place for cm's to treat other cm's like they really don't belong on prop!

Re: ASMu dilemma
Sports woulda been MY third choice, but I really wanted Movies and DH really wanted Sports...so those naturally were our top 2 choices.
DH wasn't big on the music theme.I don't think the big layout, rooms, or anything at Music will be a problem. I love the All-Stars, and I'm sure I'll love Music. But for some reason I'm just afraid the lack of "Disney" theme is going to bug me after staying at Movies last time. Dude, I don't even KNOW why I go through this every time! LOL. Because I did it last time, and I was convinced I would hate Movies. Truth be told, I spent so little time in my room, it wouldn't have mattered if I was staying at the Grand Floridian! I was oblivious. I only slept at ASMo...and swam in the pool twice. That's it! I don't think we even used the food court more than once. Ha. I was just glad to be on-site, so I could use Disney transportation. Besides, if we hate Music for some reason, at least we have the second half of our trip to look forward to at Riverside! ![]()

Re: ASMu dilemma
seriously any on prop hotel is good, like right now I would kill just to be in an all star room, watching TV and reading park maps under the star lights.
I had a bad encounter, but I made the trip worth it. To make the trip better just take lots of meals at other resorts, me and DW did that and it was so nice being in all the other resorts. Did you book a preferred room or standard?? DO NOT get rock in, we stayed there and the theming was horrible..big jukebox thats it! Country faire is actually nice, far from the food courts but better themed with it's western motiff. This is from a guy who hates country music!!! Where ever you are just know it will be fun and you're right, you will hardly be in your room! Oh and look forward to those rides from POR to DTD on the boat, so nice and relaxing!

well..if your REAL worried request a room in one of the buildings that is closest to ASMo and just 'pretend' your staying at ASMo...if i remember correctly one block of rooms at ASMU is actually CLOSER to the ASMo's bus stops than the ASMu's..

We know you're a dork but we love you anyway. ![]() Seriously, you guys are going when it shouldn't be that bad in terms of crowds. From what I've heard, ASMu is just as good as the other AS resorts. The only concern I'd have is the buses, but since it won't be crowded, you'll be fine.

Re: ASMu dilemma
I'm having the same dilemma with All Star Sports (where we'll be staying in October). My sister and her DH stayed there on their honeymoon in 2001 and loved it...but after staying at ASMo and POP, I'm a little nervous. But...like everyone says...it's Disney afterall!!
I stayed at Music in 1998 (before Movies was finished) and from what I remember it was fine. We're like you...we spend so little time in the rooms it isn't worth worrying about!!

Re: ASMu dilemma
I stayed at all star music last Christmas. We loved it and I think you will too. Besides how much of your time will you be at the hotel anyways. We were there long enough to sleep and thats it. You will like it, just wait and see.

Re: ASMu dilemma
I have stayed at all of the all stars and I would say that the music has the best food in the food court. The piano pool was fun, and there seemed to be less large groups of kids on trips here(like cheerleaders, football players, jumpropers,etc.). If you really want movies instead you should call about a week before and see if you can switch. They often have cancellations and will move you if they can. I think you'll like the music just fine.

Re: ASMu dilemma
Don't worry one bit about liking ASMu. I've stayed there twice, and I like it better than ASMo. To me, it has more of a romantic feel than Movies. Some areas still have the Disney theme. The larger guitar shaped pool has Disney charachter statues as water fountains, and the broadway building has pictures of Beauty and the Beast. There are less kids (generally) than ASMo, and its just a more laid back atmosphere. I'm certain that you'll love it. I've stayed at both the Country theme, and the Jazz theme. Jazz is much closer to the food court area, but they were both great. Don't worry...you'll love it!

Re: ASMu dilemma
My family's favorite All-Star is Music!! The lack of Disney characters doesn't hurt it, IMHO... the theming is great. I forget which one it is, Jazz or Broadway, but one of them is all lit up at night and it looks GORGEOUS. It's just like the other All-Stars as far as I can tell regarding food and service and all that. Don't worry about it, dznygrl, I'm sure you'll love it! :)

PJ, are you thinking of Broadway Inn?? The giant Marquee with beauty and the beast?? While walking the grounds; noticing how all the other themes were a lot pretier than Rock inn, Broadway was one of my DW top areas at ASmu. I've stayed at Jazz and aside from the small courtyard its not that great. Still out of all the AS, I love movies, especially the Toy story part, Andy's room just has the best theming! Geez I didn't know I was logged in as my DW, but I noticed when it wasn't my avatar! lol ![]()
