Should we change our plans?
We made reservations for April 27 - May 7, but I just found out both weekends will be grad night. Will we be disappointed or should we change our plans? We are staying at Shades of Green and really enjoyed the fireworks at MK.

I don't think you would need to. Weekends are always busy at MK and should be avoided anyway. Just do MK mid-week and visit the other parks on the weekends.

The fact of the matter is that WDW has become so popular, that it's hard to avoid some sort of event celebrating there. If it's not cheerleaders, it's bands, if it's not bands, it's grad. So just take it with a grain of salt, and go. You'll have a great time.

I wouldn't worry about it. You'll have other parks at your disposal during the time that MK is overrun. Like Llama said, there are ALWAYS special events going on at WDW anymore, and it's practically impossible to schedule your trip around them. If it's not one thing, it's another!
But you will still have a great time!!

We are going around the same time.
Live cavey said just aviod the MK on the weekend. And like llama said, if you change your plans you'll find that your new dates have some "special" event to worry about. So, don't worry it'll be a fine time to go.

I would change my plans either, just plan to be any place but the MK at those times.

I don't know about WDW, but at DL, grad nights don't start until after the park closes, at midnight (until dawn), so I don't think it will affect you unless the teenagers are staying at your hotel.

I am pretty sure the parks closed when I had my grad nite at wdw a couple years ago...my class paid a little more to get some extra time in the park...it was awesome...went through a special entrance and everything!! I agree with Cavey on the visiting mk on a weekday idea...
