Changing Resort bk 2 POFQ

I dont think that I have ever changed our minds more with planning a vacation. We went from POFQ to WL and back and forth again. Then we were going to go on a carnival cruise instead and then we decided on Disney again. We are currently booked to stay at WL. Well a co-worker of my DH's just came back again from Disney and stayed at POFQ again. My DH was looking at the pics and fell in love with POFQ all over again and wants me to change or reservation back to staying at POFQ..... AHHHHHHHHH
So Im going to have to call Disney reservations again and change back to POFQ.

Is there a certain section and or view that I should ask for? And how hard would it be to get a king size bed?
The 1st reservation that I made I didnt make any requests I just booked the resort etc......

Thanks

Re: Changing Resort bk 2 POFQ

I just looked at the map of the resort, and tried to figure out a building that would be in good proximity to the things we want to be close to. I think the king size bed would be something I would request when I made the reservation, to have a better chance of getting one.

The pictures are gorgeous, aren't they? I'm like you, torn between PO or WL for our next trip. I've never stayed in either. I'm leaning more towards POR rather than POFQ, but it's really a tossup, they both look wonderful. Let us know what you decide!

Storm, we just stayed at POFQ and have found our new "home" at Disney. POFQ guests are the first to load the busses and the first to get off the busses. I have never stayed at POR but it is a lot bigger than POFQ and where you only make one stop at POFQ there are several at POR.

Bus stuff is important, that's good to know. I have arthritis and sometimes those bus rides nearly send me to the hospital.

So if I can't afford a deluxe next time, POFQ it is!

Re: Changing Resort bk 2 POFQ

Honestly, it doesn't matter which building you stay in at POFQ. The resort is so small, it's only a short walk anywhere. Of course the river views are the prettiest - but also cost more. We had a view of a "square" - really more like a small park with benches and fountains. My kids loved playing out there. The only place I wouldn't like would be the pool-side rooms because of the noise - but that's just me. You made a great choice. I'd take a room at POFQ over a WL room any day. Don't know about the king-size beds, though.

Re: Changing Resort bk 2 POFQ

Me and my DW got a king bed and it was no problem, getting a king is a lot better since it has two windows! The reason is King rooms are placed on the corners of the buildings. Not onlt that but King rooms have varied views, so we lucked up and got a king bed and a river view. Plus by being on the corner it was like you got a semi private balcony. POFQ is our moderate of choice, even though we have only been once. Its a small resort making walking between anywhere very easy. It even took us less than 5 min to get to the themed pool of POR!
PLus we just fell in love with the theming! Having seen the real quarter it have very similar architecture, bringin the feel of New Orleans back...which may make it hard for some especially in my neck of the woods....

Re: Changing Resort bk 2 POFQ

Thanks for all the help. I havent called disney reservations yet but the way that it looks now if that Im going to switch the reservation back to POFQ and put the request in for the king size bed. I figure since we will be there close to christmas time the money that we save on the room is more money that we have to sepend inside the world.
Once again thanks for the help.

That's precisely what I was thinking too! More money to spend on Disney stuff!

Re: Changing Resort bk 2 POFQ

Our family loves POFQ. It is such a quaint, often peaceful resort. We had a water view, watch what you ask for because the water we faced was the pool, LOL. We had the second floor in Building 2 and even though we faced the pool it was still kinda quiet. I'm not sure how it sounded on the first floor though.

You can't go wrong with any building at POFQ as the resort is small and each building is relatively close to all action (buses, food court, etc.) We requested building 2 again but this time facing the Courtyard side. Even got the rest our family to join us there in Feb 06.

Let us know if you switch, you won't be sorry.
