Good Question about bus stops??

We are staying at the All Star Sports. Using the bus to get around to the parks, resorts, DTD is where I have a question? Is there a certain area that is marked at our bus stop that tells you where it is going (EXAMPLE). If we want to go to Epcot do you stand in the area marked Epcot? This is my first time and I know all you disney old school professionals will probably laugh at this. DUH AND I HAVE A COLLEGE DEGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Good Question about bus stops??

I am not familiar with your resort, but, at the resorts we've stayed at, there are areas marked for the different parks. And, the buses that come to your resort will be marked with the name of the park they are headed to.

Re: Good Question about bus stops??

I didn't stay at the ASSport but did stay at both the music and the movies. I think the set-up is the same at all of them. There are spots for each park for a line to go to that park. If you are a bit confused, the buses are also marked as to where they are headed.

Re: Good Question about bus stops??

When the busses pull into the Sports Resort bus stop, read the illuminated sign above the drivers head, it reads where the bus is going, just wait for the correct bus to arrive, and board!. Keep in mind that the bus may stop at the other all-star resorts to pick up passengers as well.( I am not remembering there being areas at the bus stop there noted Epcot, Magic Kingdom, etc...I think it is just one big bus stop)

At the parks,(to go back to your resort) there will be designated bus waiting areas marked with each resorts name above the waiting spot. I think the All-Star resorts are lumped together- so your stop will simply be marked "All-Star Resorts". The bus will me illuminated above the drivers head with the resorts name it is going to as well.
The bus may also stop at the other all-star resorts to drop off passengers...wait for the Sports stop if that is your resort.

Real simple, Hakuna matata (sp) No Worries!

There is never a stupid question...ask away. You can never be too prepared for a Disney trip. The key is to plan, and preare!!! You don't want to spend your time there floundering around trying to find something, or figure something out.

BTW- if you are bussing to another resort for a meal or just to check it out,(fun to do) there may be alternative transportation available as well- boat, monorail. Don't be shy about calling info from your room or asking disney dining (call from your room) about the best way to get to an area. Inside each park is also an 'info' center, right near the enterance.
Don't waste your time trying to figure something out, stop a Cast Member and ask.
Summary- the transportation system at WDW is Very efficient and user friendly.

The College Degree for WDW takes about 10 years, minimum, so you just keep studying. It's a very extensive course. I don't think any of us have graduated yet.

Re: Good Question about bus stops??

Just as a tip... The sign on the bus is where the bus is going. During many Disney trips I have seen people walk up to the bus and ask the bus driver, "I see the sign says Magic Kingdom. So is this bus going to Epcot?" LOL....

My point is the sign is telling the truth. Also, with boats and monorails the sign at the begining of the enterance/queue tells you where that transport goes. Be sure to get in the right line for where you want to go because it is easy to just head straight for the first line that leads to the monorail that you see.

Re: Good Question about bus stops??

At the resorts that I have stayed at each park has an seperate area. So look for the area with a sign for MK if that is where you are going ect.

Re: Good Question about bus stops??

From the time we landed at the airport till the time we left the airport - we NEVER had a problem getting around. Never been there - never done that - and scared we would not know what to do. Just ask! Everyone was great, everything was clearly marked and - I did it all WITHOUT a college degree!

Re: Good Question about bus stops??

From any resort, there are bus-stops for various destinations. Typically the bus-stops are set up so that MK, MGM and Epcot get their own stops while AK, DTD, BB, TL usually share stops.

Each bus has illuminated signs on the front and side (and some on the back too) to indicate where it's going.

Note: from DTD, you can ONLY get to the resorts. WDW started doing this a number of years ago to prevent park-goers from parking in DTD for free and then not shopping there.

So, to get to MK from DTD, you can take the Contemporary bus and walk to MK.
To get to Epcot, you can take the BC/YC or the BW bus and then walk from the Boardwalk.
To get to AK or MGM, take the CBR bus and then at CBR, take the AK or MGM bus.

Hope this helps.

Re: Good Question about bus stops??

Thanks everyone!!!!! I have did a little research and found the best ways to get around, whether it be bus, monorail, boat or taxi. I will be even taking that taxi because sometimes it is the fastest ride between them all.

Have a great disney labor day!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Good Question about bus stops??

I think you will have fun at the ASSports - we did when we stayed there. The sports icons are great. My DH and DS loved them. The buses pick up from the front of the main building. There are signs for each park. At each sign, there are poles that mark the lines. There is a different line for each park. The buses pick up at the Sports first, then quickly go to the music, then the movies. By staying at the Sports, you will always have a seat. When you return from the parks, each All Star has its own bus. So you would just go to the ASSports station. At least that's the way it worked when we went last March. Have fun!!!
