Re: pets at Fort Wilderness campgrounds

Hi Tinkerbell. I will tell you that the ten years we spent going to FW annually pets WERE NOT allowed. We had a driving RV and my grandmother never wanted to leave the dog home for 8 days so we actually snuck him in. hehe. He was a small quiet dog so we never had a problem walking him behind our RV in our campsite but I don't know if it is different now? maybe there are certain "loops" where animals are allowed? Not sure, but we always had to sneak. I would call them and ask them.

Have a good time!!! I LOOOOVE fort wilderness!

Re: pets at Fort Wilderness campgrounds

We have not camped there. But I did check out their kennel in case we ever did stay there. It was very nice/clean. I think you had to walk/feed your own dog. I do not know anything else. Sorry! So in case you have to leave your dog there while you are in the park, it is a nice place.

I can not find the stupid link ..or my 2004 WDW Birnbaum's .. but my 2003 says that "Pets are welcome at certain campsites for a nightly charge of $3.00.

Re: pets at Fort Wilderness campgrounds

FW has pet loops and they are usually booked well in advance. My parents always take their 2 dogs to WDW with them. For several years they stayed in their pop-up before upgrading to a RV. Dad has even taken his birds when he couldn't get a bird sitter.

sandanv1 thank you .. I found the old thread which included your pictures of camping there.
I do have another question .. allears.net quotes the price as $5.00 a night if you have a pet .. do you know if that is per pet?

Re: pets at Fort Wilderness campgrounds

Just asked mom and she said one fee, but she thought it was $10, but that could have been for 2 nights.

Yay!!! A trip in a camper is headed your way! Are you taking your girls? Or is this visit for you and DH?

Yes, they do have loops for pets (I know this question has already been answered, but I just had to answer anyway! I knew the answer! I knew the answer!)

:c)

if we go in Dec .. the girls will be going with their mom and dad.. which is why we are considering dec .. and hopefully Aloha_stitch does not see this .. umm I might have to remove my countdown.. she always gets pouty if we mention going with out her, so we want to act like she is being mean to us by going to WDW with out us!!! ..but my SIL has booked a trip for 12/1 - 12/7 .. my daughter said she wants to make sure he doesnt back out ..and said she will believe it when he has paid for it !!

sandanv1
have you been in Dec? is it cold or just cool .. I know the time we went in March it was cold in the mornings and at night

Tink,
We're looking at taking the pop-up in January.

Here's some links Erin found for me a few months ago.
