How early can you Ck-in?

Iam flying into Orlando the nite before and got a cheap hotel in Maingate so I could get an early start to my day on that Saturday. I booked an ADR for the Kona Cafe Sat morning 10:30am and hoped to head to WL before or after Kona to Ck-in and maybe get my room (or leave my bags with the front desk) before heading out to Sea World for the day.
So my question is how early can you check in?
I also thought this couldnt hurt my chances of getting a good room loc. at the WL (I booked the Std.), as opposed to checking in later in the day.

You can check in pretty early, as early as 6 am I am sure. We have checked in before 8 am and dropped off our luggage.

I think you can check-in as early as you want (and it probably will help you get a better room...).

Ohhh DT, I forgot a couple more things:
Where should I request a room? I know there are certain areas of the WL to stay away from, like near the kitchen and staff entrances, etc...
and you had to call the front desk for a Refrig., are they still free, being that WL is a deluxe hotel?

Last time at Ft Wilderness, we checked in at 10 am and the room was ready. We were unpacked and off to the parks by 10:30. I think we have only had to wait for our room one time, when we were at POFQ. It can't hurt to try to check in early

We have gotten upgraded to a courtyard view twice. I like the innercourtyard view the best. You over look the main pool and can see the water with the boats coming and going. I haven't stayed in a standard view so I can't help you with that. If you get to your room and you don't like it ask to be moved.

If bell services is holding your luggage it will be brought to your room once you call for it. If you take DME it will brought to your room as soon as it gets to your resort.

Your fridge should be free but you may have to call for it.

Don't forget to ask to be a flag family when you check in. We did it a couple of years ago and it was awesome.

I found the times we arrived early and checked in we seemed to get the better rooms! This past time in August we checked into the AKL at 9am and got a room on the third floor, close to the lobby (where I LOVE to be), and they even upgraded us to a pool view instead of a "standard view", it was really nice. When we arrived later that afternoon our luggage WAS in our room.

Iam gonna ask for a room overlooking the pool and see what happens!

Iam not doing DME so I will just handle it from the front desk if the room is not available in the morning.
Does flag family have to do this Every morning?

My mom will not get up early for anything!!!
Unless my DD and I do it by ourselves!
I can't wait to stay here!!!

If there is a day open when you check in you can ask to raise the flags with a CM one morning. It's really neat, you get to go up on the roof to raise the flags and the view is awesome. I think we had to be at the desk at 8:15 the morning we were the flag family. You don't have to have your whole family there, it can be just part of your group.

I hope you get to do it, it was a highlight of our trip. We were there again this past summer and all our days were already filled when we checked in.

You can check in as early as you want. Whether they have a room at that time is a crap shoot, but at least you know you are registered and your bags taken care of. By the time you get back from SW, you'll be all set to go to your room.
