Should we risk it again?

Well..it's quasi-offical..If all goes well The Dave and Bella we reunite with Disney World this May..
Now on to the fun stuff..where to stay?
I have several woes in this area.....The AP rates aren't out yet, which is no supirse..BUT..if a good rate comes out Dave and I really would like to upgrade to a moderate. We have enough time to plan and and save for one, but right now 5 nights at POFQ is $800 regular rate..which is steep for just the two of us....
anyways..if the AP rate doesn't reduce the general public rate by much we'll have to stay at a value again...but hey...no harm no foul...we love the values! (We've never stayed anywhere else how would we know?)
But here's the thing...the last three times we have stayed at POP...and not that POP is bad..we're just..tired of it..but who knows maybe by next May we'll want to go back.......
But..the other option is the All Stars...a few of you may remember I had issues with All Star Movies in March of 05 (they screwed up my reservation..ended up having to move over to POP..which in turn made us love POP because we had a bad taste in our mouth for ASMO) BUT we stayed at ASMO in January 04 and LOVED it.....
So should we risk it again? Should give ASMO's another chance...or should we just stay at POP..again....

Re: Should we risk it again?

We stayed at All Star Movies in April and had a blast! They were friendly, the rooms were clean, and all in all everybody was so anxious to help us with our stay! No complaints on my end. We will be staying at a moderate or a deluxe next time only because it will be our 10 year anniv. and we want to try something new (and splurge! ) Let us know what you decide. Can't wait to hear! I'm excited for you!

Give it a try!!!! You can always complain and get moved again, if it's not up to your expectations :c)

I really hope that you get to try a moderate, though!! Lots of fun!

Re: Should we risk it again?

Give 'em another chance.... Because we will probably be at an All-Star too! (I'm trying to make you plan everything according to our plans, if you couldn't already tell Hehe.)

If it's bad, we can all complain and go over to POP together!

Re: Should we risk it again?

I would say risk it again. I think it is the nicest of the all-stars. I definately request the "fastasia" building b/c it's right up close to everything!! If you feel "safe" with a reservation at POP again, do Pop. I like their food court and store. I can understand getting tired of it though. Let us know what you decide. My vote would be try All Stars Movies again though!

Re: Should we risk it again?

Did you look into a AAA rate for that time yet? It might be worth a call to see what the rate would be if you really want a moderate. And if it's a room only, you can cancel it if a better Ap rate comes out, can't you?

Don't laugh at me, but I sort of remember some advise you gave out once about AS vs. PC regarding the bus system pros and cons. I think you said if it were busy, you'd skip PC because the waits could be long. Again, I dont remember what you said, but maybe me saying this will remind you and help you choose.

Yeah, that's another issue I comepletly forgot about!!...when we went in June the bus lines for POP were ALWAYS the longest...we once saw 11 buses pull up and load in people in front of us...granted this was after spectro and wishes..but none of the other lines were that busy...and the POP bus queues always seem to be the farthest away from the park entrace bc it's the newest

Dzgrl,
Wouldn't you and the Dave be primo candidates for the DVC? It would help with cool lodgings now and then if little 'bellas and daves bless us, your ahead of the game!
(just a thought, but it works for Mrs Mouse and the mouseketts and I).

It would be lovely..but Dave is still in college! Therefore we wouldnt meet the income requirements, because he has none.....well i mean he has his little part time job at the movie theatre....it's defineatly something we've thought about when we're married and a little more settled

Re: Should we risk it again?

Book under the best rate program at the POFQ. Wait and see if a discount comes. You will get anything that comes out under that program automatically. If worse case scenerio, you get nothing, you can downgrade for $50. I wouldn't hold your breathe waiting for the ol letter codes. Book with the best rate. I got a discount for my trip. $40 a night off the room. Not much more than what the vlaue would have cost me.

Re: Should we risk it again?

Depending on how much time you plan on spending at the hotel, would you want to put the extra money into the lodging or other stuff?
I love PORS (always Dixie Landings to me!!! ) and would do whatever I could, within reason of course, to stay there if possible. If you stick a couple bucks from each paycheck away, it'll add up to the difference you'd pay for a moderate vs. value.
No matter where you stay, you'll have a blast!

My vote is either for POP or a mod and for a mod hotel, I would go with CBR!!
