upgrade

Any suggestions on what to do to upgrade our room to a water view (not pools, river)? Last time we stayed at "Parterre Place", and had a beautiful view of the river. Can you generally do this toward the time you'll arrive without paying the extra fee?
Okay, it's cheap; but then we just spend more on other things at WDW so they get my $$$$$$ anyway! LOL

I have been known to just ask for a free upgrade when we are checking in, and often we get it. (sometimes we have gotten great free upgrades without even asking!) You are going during value season so there will be less people there. So IMO you have a good chance of getting one. At POR I think just about any view is wondrefull, except the parking lot, lol. Good luck!

I have been able to get a free upgrade on my last three trips. Two at the AKL and one at WL. I didn't get one at the Polynesian, but I picked my room and believe my location was perfect...I didn't want the upgrade that time. Just ask for it. Can't hurt to ask.

Bumble, apparently now they ARE exactly the same

that is so strange- and yet really cool! I'll definitely ask for the upgrade because my DD is upset that I didn't arrange for the river view to begin with. Unfortunately I don't have a DC pin, but will look for yours.
My DH's comments were both sweet & humorous, guess that's why I'm his DW.
