Best building at Pop Century

Our trip is getting very close now so I want to tie up all the loose ends. I want to know what building I should request (and hope for) or if there is a building I should stay away from! Any other tips about PC will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Re: Best building at Pop Century

I like the 70's building 10. I stayed there for Night of Joy weekend, and it was under a 4 minute walk to the buses and under a 5 minute walk to the food court, and it wasn't a preferred building.

Re: Best building at Pop Century

We were in the 90s last Dec. We had a nice view of the 80s pool and we could see a bit of the fireworks from Epcot at night. I didn't think it was too far from the bus stop or the food court. I think that PC is so well designed that nothing feels very far away :)

Re: Best building at Pop Century

Tinkerbell has stayed there a few times and she liked the 90's building. I think she said it was really a close walk to the bus stop. PM her just in case I am wrong, but I could have sworn that's what she said.

Re: Best building at Pop Century

After looking at the map in the passporter, I was thinking of the 50's building also!

I'll let you know when we get back!

Re: Best building at Pop Century

I've heard two points of view on this:

Mine: We stayed at POP and were in the 70's. They are the buidlings that are closest to the bus stops and food court.

Others: Many such as tinkerbell(as Dana pointed out) really like being out in the 90's. The nice part of that is that it is more quiet out there and you have the quiet pool right there. The bad part is that you are a little further away from the food court and bus stops, but nothing is more than a 5 minute walk.

Overall, since it is a Value resort and you don't get the free refrigerators I would stick with the 70's so when you go to fill up your mugs its a 2 min walk. Honestly though, you can't go wrong.

Re: Best building at Pop Century

I grew up in the 70's! (uh oh, now everyone knows how old I'm am!) It would be cool to revisit those times! I like the idea of being close to the food court so I can run out and get my am tea!

we have always stayed in the 90's .. we ask for that building ..it is a short walk to Everything pop and the lobby if you cut through the parking lot.

We stayed in the 70's, building 6, with a lake view. It was great.

Re: Best building at Pop Century

I dont know if it's just our experience or what ..but it seems that if you stay in the area of the 70's, 80's and 90's .. there is more parking space available. Not that that ever mattered to us ..we are Disney bus people :) but we never had problems finding a parking spot close enough to the building/room.

Re: Best building at Pop Century

I love them all! Maybe that's cause I work there! :-D

Building 2 & 3 in the 50s decade do provide some fireworks viewing if you're on an upper floor on the back side (specifically lagoon view in building 3), however, building two is a bit of a walk from the main building, but you can do it- not too terribly far away.

The most requests come from building 6 & 10, 70s decade, cause they are our closest buildings without being the prefered section.

LET YOUR REQUESTS BE KNOWN WHEN YOU CHECK IN. Our biggest problem is while the requests are in the notes, sometimes we can't always fulfil them, or your requests have already been assigned, which makes it easier for the front desk people. But we have some people that don't tell us that they want a certain building until after we've completed check in. WE CAN CHANGE IT- NO BIG DEAL- but it will save you time if you say upfront, "hey, I'm interested in a 70s decade room."

Ok, there's my two bits for the night. Thanks and........have a *GROOVY* day!
