Birthday surpises in the room
During our last visit the Polynesian concierge arranged for a birthday surprise (balloon & autographed picture of their favorite character) for both of our children. This year we are staying at the Grand Floridian (not concierge) and I am not certain who to make the request for a special surprise. Should I just add it to our reservation? or include information on our room request fax?

i called the guest services at 407-w disney and they told me that you call them 2 weeks in advance.. now i have a question for you sleeping beauty.... do u have to be there on the kids exact b day or can it be a week or 2 off to still rec the card and balloon

Is there a charge for the balloon and card? Can I arrange it for the day after we arrive? - Ds's exact b-day!! We will be at PC - Do you think they do that there??

hi I've gone through the Disney Florist several times and they are always very good with fulfilling your requests to the best of their abilities. Everything from flowers, fruit baskets, theme baskets including WDW merchandise, etc... I've always had good experiences with them.

I agree with Wish, if you want to be sure there is something delivered to your room go through Disney Florist. If you request it on your reservation there is no guarantee it will get done then there's disappointment.

disteach reminded me of something....
If you do use Disney Florist I would ALSO contact the resort and let them know when to expect your delivery and what to do with it. This last trip, even though the florist had told the AKL to have in our in room upon check-in, someone left it sitting on a table in the back room and I had to go ask "did anything come for room... today?" They apologized and it was no big deal but I think if I would have told AKL before hand it might have been avoided.

When we stayed concierge Poly, there was no charge and it was quite a surprise, but I don't know if it was because we were concierge. Later in the week, my son had to have a doctor come to our room (he had pnuemonia) and they also sent him a surprise balloon, candy and autograph photo. I guess I will mention it on the reservation and then the fax.
