Resort Opinions

Ok - Please give me your best argument for your favorite of these resorts.
There will be four adults: me, my mom, my friend and her mom. We decided to take them on a trip. We will stay at one of the following using DVC points:
Beach Club Studio
Old Key West Studio
Saratoga Springs Studio
Boardwalk Studio
Wilderness Lodge Studio

Re: Resort Opinions

If you like Epcot then the Beach Club is the best place. If not then Wilderness Lodge is the best if you are into MK.

Re: Resort Opinions

I agree though I have never stayed there .. the Beach Club would be the best because it is in walking distance of Epcot.

Re: Resort Opinions

Beach Club is a beautiful resort and a quick walk from Epcot. Wilderness Lodge is also beautiful just in a different way and it's a quick boat ride to Magic Kingdom. You really can't go wrong with any of your choice.

Beach Club has my vote, too.

I can't wait to try this resort! (That one, and AKL!)

Re: Resort Opinions

Our children are older so we would tend to hang out at MGM and EPCOT more then MK. So Beach Club would be the choice for us. With younger choildren we would tend to hang at MK more so Widerness Lodge would be the ticket!

Re: Resort Opinions

If you're looking for location, location, location, as well as atmosphere, I vote for Boardwalk. You can easily walk to MGM AND EPCOT, plus there's all kinds of stuff on the Boardwalk itself. For the group that's going that's what I would suggest. Now, having said that, although we've stayed at Boardwalk the past several trips, this time Rafikiman & I are staying at Wilderness Lodge. It's still really convenient to MK, & we think it has a little more romantic atmosphere & since it's just the 2 of us this trip...!

Re: Resort Opinions

I'd say Old Key West! It's very relaxing and has a great location for the parks. And if you're planning on spending time at DTD the you should defiantly stay at OKW. You can take the boat over and then grab something to eat and do some shopping! What could be better?

Re: Resort Opinions

I am probably one of the only ones to say this, but I didn't like OKW! Maybe because I was only there 4 days and I had a bug problem in my studio ...and tiles and the soap holder were broken in the shower...and the blinds were broken on the door that goes out to the little patio... .

But I do have to say, that the location of my villa was great! It was right near the main building, on the main floor. We just parked our rental car right in front of the villa, it was great! It reminded me of staying at my own timeshare...

I have to agree with the majority here and say the Epcot area DVC resorts sound AMAZING.

Re: Resort Opinions

Ok. We have stayed at Saratoga Springs and WL and we liked both, but for totally different reasons. We found both to be very relaxing and terrific on views and amenities. We loved WL because it was close to MK and FW (for the Campfire sing-a-long with chip and Dale) and you can see Wishes at night from the front of the resort over the trees and at FW if you are at the sing-a-long. They have a terrific pool and it has Whispering Canyon in the lobby. You have to eat there. I really loved the room decor and we are going to stay there again in Dec. when all the Christmas decorations are up. I can't wait to see it. Should be fabulous.

Saratoga Springs is great as well. You are close to DTD, and there quiet pools are wonderful. I didn't particularly care for Rock Spring pool, but some people like it. I love Artist's Pallete to eat at. They have wonderful food. Saratoga has no sit-down restaurants, but hey just go to DTD and take your pick. I always loved going to Earl of Sandwich. There are Fireworks everynight at DTD, but you can choose to see them or not and you can't hear them in your room and they only last 5 mins. max. Saratoga is very relaxed and a really wonderful representation of the DVC resorts. The rooms are beautiful and very relaxing, as well.

Re: Resort Opinions

If it were me having 4 adults in one room, I would choose Old Key West. All the other studios have a queen bed and a sofa sleeper. Old Key West has two queen beds. The sofa sleepers are comfy for kids, but I prefer the queen any day. And OKW is very beautiful and relaxing!
