Coronado Springs?
We are going to WDW Dec 16 with my in-laws. They have never stayed at a moderate before. What would be the best one to book? My DH and I have stayed at Carribean Beach and POFQ. We really liked both. We were at POFQ at the end of Sept and Carribean in March. We will prob. be back at CBR in May. Any suggestions on which to choose? What have people liked and disliked about Coronado Springs? (walking around the hotel is no problem for us.)

Re: Coronado Springs?
The dirty room issue is something I am a little sensitive too. In Sept. we stayed at POFQ, there was hair in the sink, I found hair in the bed (they came and recleaned the room. Also, in the vanity area, there were hairs everywhere on the floor. As if someone had a haircut in there. I want this to be special for my mother in law, it will be her birthday.

Re: Coronado Springs?
CSR is a great resort! Check out my CSR website below.
THE PROS No sharing bus service with other resorts Centrally located with short rides to the parks Largest hot tub on WDW property Awesome main pool area with bar, snack bar, playground and kiddie pool 3 quiet pools New shuttle service eliminates long walks to any of the villages High speed internet service WiFi available too Free use of the gym Spa Fridge in the room Coffeemaker in the room Iron and ironing board full room service menu 2 arcades beautifully landscaped central air, not a noisey wall unit THE CONS Full size beds (kings size beds are available) one sink IN THE MIDDLE The Pepper Market is either a love it or hate it place. We love it but some folks just don't care for it. Convention resort - some guests don't like seeing other guests at work. Doesn't bother us and helps keep the buses empty. GF, Cont, BW, Y & B Club are also convention resorts. Re: Coronado Springs?
We also liked CSR when we were there. We did like CBR a bit more, but that is decor more then anything. We did not have a problem with Mousekeeping as a matter of fact my DD got her first towel animal there. We will be staying for one day on our upcoming trip before trasnfering over to the Poly.
Enjoy! -harry

Re: Coronado Springs?
If walking's no problem, then DEFINITELY Coronado Springs!! I love this hotel!! It's so gorgeous. The pool is amazing. The Pepper Market is definitely an experience, lol. Our rooms have always been nice and clean, and not too far from anything. By the way, there are bus stops around the hotel so you don't have to walk all the way from your room to the main bus stop up front - the park buses will pick you up at the stop by your room and continue on to the front to pick up more people. :) (This also works if you want to go up to the front for a midnite snack without the walk. We got ice cream and decided to work it off by walking back.
) kizzmitt - the bus service to the parks has always been great for us! On our last stay, there was one time in the middle of the day when we were trying to get to Epcot when the bus seemed to take forever. But every other time, we hardly waited at all, and the buses were spread out pretty evenly between all the parks. :)

Re: Coronado Springs?
We enjoyed our stay at Coronado Springs more than Caribbean Beach. The pool was better and the rooms, in my opinion, were better at CSR. The overall theme was amazing.

Re: Coronado Springs?
Bus service is one of the best. It is not shared with another resort and only has 4 stops. Rarely do we ever have to stand and when we do it is after something like Illuminations or Fantasmic. CSR is centrally located so the rides to the parks and Blizzard Beach are short. MK is the longest at 10 mins or so.
Walking isn't an issue anymore either at CSR because they have instituted a new internal shuttle service so there is no walking if you don't want to walk. Just wait at the designated stops and a shuttle cart will bring you to and from the main building to your room. They run frequently. http://tinypic.com/dxzait.jpg http://tinypic.com/dxzaky.jpg http://tinypic.com/dxzamh.jpg Room Locations Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site over the wooden bridge. Most convenient, most preferred. Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. cabana 8b and 9a are inbetween the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool and is also a smoking optional building. Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a. The casitas are close to the gym, spa and have great fountains and courtyards. casita 5 is close to the Dig Site with a good walk to the main building. The lower the casita number the closer towards the main building. Casta 4 has a quiet pool. PS - CSR surrounds a 15 acre lake while CBR surrounds a 45 arce lake. |
