Re: christmas in january

Welcome to DC, and what a special surprise you have planned! Unfortunately, Missy H is right, the Christmas decorations will be down by the time you get there. But its still going to be splendid!!

Re: christmas in january

I am afraid I cannot answer your question any dfferently but I do know you will still ave wonderful time. What a fantastic suprise. DH and I had our honeymoon in WDW we stayed at the Poly for 2 weeks. It was just magical. Be sure to tell CMs that it is your honeymoon, we were truly spoilt and had so much attention from everywhere we went. Hey...if you can't be spoilt on honeymoon when can you be!?

Re: christmas in january

Welcome to Disney central. The christmas comes down the first week of January. However, I just read that the lights in MGM are now staying up till second week or January, so you may get to see them.

Re: christmas in january

I was in WDW until January 14th this year and there were still a few traces of Christmas decorations up around the resort. The bulk of the decorations at the WL didn't come down until around the 10th or 11th.

Re: christmas in january

Welcome! And I have found someone else who will be there the week I am. We go this same week every year, and there is no Christmas to be found(except in the Christmas Store in Downtown Disney), but it is still wonderful!!

Congratulations on the wedding And the honeymoon!

Re: christmas in january

i remember on our first trip, there was still some christmas decorations up but only in our hotel. this was on our first day, the next day, though, everything was down. our first trip was from january 15 to the 22. we were there this past january, very early, and the decorations were still up in our hotel but not in the parks. you will definitely get the christmas feeling if you play miniature golf at winter summerland.

Re: christmas in january

We arrived January 2 with only a few decorations still even lit (mostly at resorts). By the end of the week, only the masses Osborne Lights were still to be seen (unlit, of course).

And I'm glad for it. How many have neighbors who still have last year's Christmas lights up? (Okay, and who's willing to admit THEY are the neighbor with the lights up. )
