AP Best Rate Program--warning-RANT

I booked online for my Jan. 14-22 at the AP rate months ago. The deal is if you book 60 days out and the rate goes down you automatically get the lower rate. Well, the rate went down , but for only part of my trip (16-22) and I got no automatic discount. So I call WDW this morning and the CM tells me I can split my ressiefor Jan.14-16 at the higher rate and then the other days at the lower rate but that I have to call back between 2-5pm. because that is the only time they are allowed to do passholder modifications.(I thought that was wierd, but she said it was a rule). So I call back and the new CM says I can change my original ressie to 2 days, but there is a $50 fee for changing and then I would have to go online and rebook the second half of my vacation seperately (which you can't do because it is now not 60 days out) Can you believe this? The whole idea of the program is so you get a lower rate when it comes available and now I cant get it at all. Thanks for letting me vent, and if anyone has any suggestions I would be happy for the help.

Oh, I think I'd have to ask that the issue be bumped up to someone higher. That will not do at all. The $50 fee is supposed to be if YOU change the ressie.

Re: AP Best Rate Program--warning-RANT

It is sad and I would speak to someone higher up as ddoll said......I was going to buy an AP these year and now am very glad I did not.....with Disney being able to see when AP holders book then put the lower rates were AP holders feel as though they have been left out is a bad move IMO. WDW makes so much in the parks that they shouldn't mind giving up a little in Resort Room $ to the AP holders. All that most of the AP Holders will do is spend what they save in Room discounts in the parks.

Re: AP Best Rate Program--warning-RANT

I don't like the way WDW is beginning to dump (for lack of a better word on a family site) all over its loyal passholders just because the rest of the world is starting to go back on vacation again. Who was keeping the resorts and parks full while everyone else was staying home, afraid to travel, or just not vacationing for other reasons? The passholders. And now that their numbers are coming back up again, the passholders are getting short shrift. I would DEFINITELY take that issue to someone higher, by phone first, then by hand-written letter.
