swimming pools

Hello to all!! I am planning my first trip to disney world and hope to stay for 10 days. I am trying to find the resort with the best pool so I can have a few just pool days--is Stormalong Bay the best? Does anyone have another favorite? Thanks, Marina

Marina, welcome to DisneyCentral. Yes, I think Stormalong Bay is the best, but I know others ( Minnie, for one) don't particularly care for it. It is very unique in that the entire pool has a sand bottom. There is the longest slide at any of the WDW pools, a lazy river and a kids area, among other things.

I also like the pool at the Boardwalk Villas, the Polynesian pool, as well as the pools at the Grand Floridian, Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge. I would probably take one of the monorail resort pools over any other one though. The view from the pools can't be beat, plus, if you are staying there, it is easy to pool hop over to one of the other monorail resorts.

The worst pool by far is at Old Key West, but fortunately, if you stay there, you can legally pool hop anywhere on property.

Hi Mickey,
Thanks for responding--what does Minnie not like about Stormalong Bay? I am attracted to this area because it appears I can easily walk to night time spots on the boardwalk--are evening areas as easy to reach at the monorail resorts??? Also, the Wilderness looks great but I am concerned about easy access to adult fun at night--any input would be appreciated--thanks, Marina
