"Standard or Preferred" View at Boardwalk Villas?
Does anyone know what the "standard" view at the Boardwalk Villas consists of?
I can picture the boardwalk facing side of the resort but can't figure out what the "standard" view might be. What is there to look at BESIDES the boardwalk, water, pool, or gardens?? Also, tell me about it... location wise. Are there BETTER buildings to request than others? Which are closest to the Boardwalk entrance, lobby, boats to MGM/EPCOT? Thank you. (wow, this is REALLY hard NOT thinking about these things before the DVC contract is actually signed, DANG FEDEX, haha)

Re: "Standard or Preferred" View at Boardwalk Villas?
standard usually means parking lot, trees or gardens. Not positive about the boardwalk, but that's what it has meant at the polynesian, akl and any other place I have stayed at WDW.

Re: "Standard or Preferred" View at Boardwalk Villas?
I thought the same thing but from what I remember of the Boardwalk I can't picture any of the building having a parking lot view. I wonder if the layout is to be found anywhere on-line?

Re: "Standard or Preferred" View at Boardwalk Villas?
I found this info for ya.
We are stying at the BWV's also in May. Can't wait!!! What are the differences between the room views? The Standard View category can either overlook the manicured grounds near the entrance of the resort, with the parking lot beyond that; or they can overlook beautiful gardens and walkways and quiet pool. These Standard Views seem to be the most private since they are closed off from the Boardwalk and the parking areas. The Water View room category overlook Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk, and tend to be more lively in the evening hours. These Water View rooms are sometimes referred to as Preferred Views. A Variable View is usually used in conjunction with discounted rooms and means you won't have a guaranteed view because of the discount.

Re: "Standard or Preferred" View at Boardwalk Villas?
We had a standard view at Boardwalk (in the Villas, but it's the same view as the Inn). It overlooked the front of the resort. Yes, you do see the parking lot, but it's a long way from the Inn. It's mostly lawn, and trees. AND it is much, much quieter than the preferred views. We've had both and would take standard over preferred.

Re: "Standard or Preferred" View at Boardwalk Villas?
OK, so if you stay in a standard view is it close to the lobby and boardwalk entrance still?
I guess my question is... I like being NEAR everything but I also like the quiet. I HATE being FAR away from the lobby and hubbub b/c i wanna feel like I can dash over if I need anything quickly. Although, I would LOVE to save the points and stay in the "cheaper" standard view room. Will I hate it? I want quiet but i don't want to feel secluded.

Book standard. Always chance you'll get the preferred anyway. A room is just a place to sleep when you're not in the parks;

The boardwalk side of the resort is so festive at night. I envied the people out on their balconies watching young lovers strolling past (Oh, and Lil & I with 2 screaming kids...)

Wish you're doing it big. The Boardwalk is a really nice resort, I hope you get a great room.
