All Star Music

We're staying at the All Star Music this July. Thought my 3 yr old daughter would love the decor! I was wondering if anyone had suggestions at a room location to suggest when we get there. We're booked for a preferred view room, because I was told that these rooms are closest to shuttles and food court area. My worry is that I heard rooms that are closest to the pool area are quite noisy and she'll probably need afternoon naps. What little knowledge I have of this resort is that it's broken up into Fantasia, Toy Story, Dalmations and Love Bug. Any suggestions on rooms to "try for" and those to avoid?

A/S Music is Calypso, Jazz, etc.. The ones you mentioned are part of A/S Movie. It's true being to close (preferred) to the pool & food area is VERY noisey. I suggest the next section over in A/S Music it's the "JAZZ" try for the 2nd or *3rd* floor less noise from all the people walking past your room to get to their room.
GOOD LUCK!:D :D

Don't stay by the pool / food ct area to noisey and stay on the 3RDmfloor less foot traffic

Toy Story, 3rd floor!!!

Don't let them fool you with the "preferred" rooms. Yes, they are close to the food court and the bus stops (Toy story is nearly as close, and doesn't cost you any extra, by the way!) But the preferred rooms (Fantasia section) are going to be very noisy!

Toy story is right next to the playground, has GREAT icons, and is really close to the pool (without the noise) and the food court.

By the way, this is a hot topic on Disney Central. If you would like to see other threads about All Stars resorts, go to Disney Central's home page and in the top left corner there is a search box, just type in "all stars".

This is my #1 All Stars pick!!:D

For some reason even when I stayed by the pools there wasn't much noise.

Btw, I think any floor is good also, I personally wouldn't want to walk up stairs(I'm lazy :p ) but thats just me ;)

There are elevators at all sections of all stars resorts. They are in every building, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Also, the foot traffic on the first floor can be terrible at times (esp EARLY morning (7:00 am) and LATE evening (midnight). I would avoid it if at all possible!

I would also go for Toy Story. It's not far from the food court/pool at all, and it is definitely a lot quieter than the pool area. I've been woken at 2:00 am TWICE by kids throwing themselves in the pool when I stayed in a pool view room, and the little ones really need their sleep at night when visiting WDW. Plus, she'd probably get a huge kick out of staying near the huge Woody and Buzz.

We stayed at the Toy Story buildings on our last trip (one week ago). We were in the Woody building, 1st floor, right next to the little courtyard. The "Woody" building blocks were literally 20 ft from our door.

I thought it would be loud, maybe it was the time of the year, but it was very quiet. I think we heard more noise from the room next to us (which wasn't that much).

Personally, I was more worried about people complaining about the noise coming from OUR room. Against my better judgement, I allowed my nephew to buy a Buzz Lightyear Voice Changer (it was really rather loud). My sister was not pleased when we got home...

All Star Movies

Thanks for the helpful info on room locations at the All Star Movies. New problem: I have preferred room ressies for July (what I'm told is a very popular time to go) When making the reservations I was told that I can't pick room location. How do I make sure that I am able to stay at Toy Story and not on the 1st floor? FRom what I'm reading I actually shouldn't request a preferred view room, but instead a standard. Should I just leave ressie as is and when I check in deal with room location then? Any suggestions?

From the way I see it, you have a couple different options.....

You can call Central Reservations (if that is who you made them through) and let them know you don't want a preferred room (It will be $10/night cheaper, too). Tell them you want to request Toy Story section, 3rd floor. Then, about 5 days before you go, call or fax the front desk manager and tell them your request again. This has ALWAYS worked for us. My sister just made reservations for All Stars Sports in May, and they let her request floor and section.

On the opposite side of the coin, although this has always worked for us...you have to make the decision with the possibility that it MAY not work for you. You may want to keep your preferred room reservation at Fantasia and call Central Reservations and tell them you want the back side of the building on the 2nd or 3rd floor. Then you not have a pool side (aka noisy side) and you won't have a LONG trek every morning and evening to get to your room. You will still need to follow up with All Stars Movies front desk manager 5 days before your arrival.

Well, there's my 2 cents worth.....Hope it helps!

The number for Central Reservations is 1-407-WDISNEY.
The number to CALL All Stars Movies is 1-407-939-7000. Ask for the Front Desk and tell them your request and get there fax number to follow up with a fax.

If you made your reservation thru a travel agent or another place other than Central Reservations, most likely, they will require you go through your booking agent to make the changes. If you made them through CRO, then they will be able to take the info from you directly.

SSN, if you want to stay in Toy Story, I would call back and request a standard room. The prefered room is more expensive, and basically only gets you by the pool, which tends to be noisy. Make sure you watch for future discounts, they will be released sometime here in the future.

Stitchie, I have the fax number at work, I will get it for you tomorrow.
