mouseof3: Welcome to Disney Central! The Tower is the most popular building of the contemporary resort ( thats the big one with the monorail), The Contemporary also has 2 wings on its side. For a better understanfing of what the resort looks like here's a mapContemporary map . I stayed at the contemporary last year in the tower, and loved it! Its the closest resort to the magic kingdom, and you can have a room facing the park or bay lake if you request it. The wings are only 3 stories tall and offer a garden view, lake view and "standard" view (which is like parking lot). There's a huge difference in pricing. The tower rooms cost on average about 300 dollars a night, and the wings are about 100 less. You pay the extra price for the conveniency and the room view, but in my opinion its worth it!

We stayed at the South garden wing last October and liked it OK. Apparently one advantage of the Garden wing rooms over the Tower rooms is that the Garden wing rooms are quieter. I have never stayed in the Tower so I can't say for sure.

The Garden rooms were pretty quiet though.

THIS HAPPENED TO ME! I booked a room for 10 days at the contemporary, noone told me there were rooms outside of the tower. Imagine our surprise when we checked in ! I just thought I got a great deal. Our room was about a 10 minute walk from the lobby, but convenient to the pool. All in all IMHO soooooo not worth the money. I was more than a little disappointed. I felt like we were put in the Disney backyard. SO far away from everything that we didnt even feel like we were on Disney property. Although one day I might go back and give this resort another try with a tower room, I will never stay in the wings again. Not when the price you pay gets you a lovely resort almost anywhere else.

If you still have time....My suggestion would be either upgrade or pick a different resort. Just MO though.

mouseof3: When i stayed at the contemporary I was on the 10th floor with a room facing the MK. It was beautiful!! I dont think there are any bad floors at the Contemporary just because the actual rooms dont start until you hit the 4th floor. The monorail is on the 4th floor so a room near the ground would be more convenient but you would also get more noise from the monorail. IIMHO the higher up you go the better the view is. I loved the 10th floor. I think the last 2 are reserved for the concierge. Overall I loved the contemporary! And the only reason why I would stay there would be for a tower room with a view of the MK. it just brings a tear to my eye when I think about it:cry: lol, j/k. Have you read the reviews on the cotemporary here at DC? If not, go to the main page and on the side column it says review central, click that and it will take you to all the diferent resorts. My review is on there too! lol.
