Polynesian Resort

We are going back to WDW for our FOURTH time in as many years.
:D

We've stayed at CB, CS, and WL. this time we're staying at the Poly. Any thing we JUST HAVE to do while we are there. Already know about Ohanas dinner and character breakfast. Is there anything else about this particular resort that is unusual or fun?:)

I love the Polynesian!! We were there in Sept. and we able to spend several days just enjoying the resort. You must take some time to relax on the beach in one of the hammocks while you watch the ferry & boats pass by. The view of Cinderella's castle is spectacular. Be sure to view the fireworks from the beach at least once!! We had an evening swim and sat in the pool while we watched... sooo cool!! The volcano slide is very fun at night - all light up inside! Be sure to stick around after the fireworks because they also have an electric water pageant that travels along the Seven Seas Lagoon every night. Check times at the resort. If you're on the ground floor...don't feed the ducks from your sliding door... we did and we had the whole family of ducks quacking at our door for hours. Fun once but wouldn't do it again. Look for the bunnies all around the grounds - very cute. An evening stroll is also a must as the grounds are very romantic! My DH and DD enjoyed the mouse boats. One last tip - the boat to MK is a nice alternative during the busy rush out of the park. Oh, how could I forget... Tonga Toast for breakfast from Kona Cafe or order room service!! Have a wonderful time!!

Polynesian is our fave. There are two things that I think are really cool about staying there.

1. The smell inside the Grand Ceremonial House. My first WDW trip was in 1986 with my parents, my second was for my Honeymoon in 1997 and as soon as I walked into the GCH, it was so familiar. Everytime I go back to WDW, even if we are not staying there, I have to walk into the GCH just once to feel like I've come home.

2. This is a little dumb, but every morning I would take the resort mugs (the ones you can refill for free at the resort) to Captain Cook's Snack bar at the crack of dawn. I thought it was so cool to walk around in this South Seas atmosphere resort and hear the werewolf from the Haunted Mansion. It was just so quiet you could hear it right across the water. Corny, I know, but I still think it's cool.

I'm jealous, I miss staying there.
