Ft Wilderness

Ok guys, we are going to go to the Hoop De Doo on one of the days that we are at WDW.

I have a question. We have heard that Ft Wilderness has a lot to do there as well. What I would like to know is this:

Is there enough to do there all day? We are having breakfast that day at 1900 Park and then my mother in law suggested that we head over there and spend the day.

We will be having two 8 year olds and a 7 year old, so keeping them occupied is a good thing!

I know that they have the campfire, the Hoop De Do, the hay ride at night.

I am also aware of the petting zoo which the kids will love, but I would like to know if there is enough to keep them going all day.

We can do other things too if there's not enough to keep them busy all day there.

Please let me know. Thanks again guys!

:) :) :)

There are also walking trails, bike rentals, and all the other things you mentioned. Plus you could hike a mile and tour the Wilderness Lodge.

My family could spend the whole day in Fort Wilderness, but I would never do it at the expense of sacrificing park passes. If you are there on a length of stay pass, I wouldn't go but for a couple hours since Fort Wilderness is free.

Thanks!

We are going to be there 9 days so it's not a big issue. My mother in law stated that there was a lot to do and wanted to do something low key that day.

Thanks!
:)

Ft Wilderness is a great choice for a low-key day. It has alot of things to keep you as busy as you want to be!

White sand beach for playing
Play ground
Bike rental
Fishing (cane fishing is my favorite and inexpensive too!)
Hiking
Swimming
Pony rides
Boat rental (the canoes are so fun and there are a lot of canals!)

I have camped there, and always make a point of going over...even if it just to play checkers at the country store. I'll be happy to answer any questions that you have!

Stitchie: Iv'e stayed at the fort wilderness campground twice and each time I spent a day just roaming the grounds. There is so much to do and see there, you will probably want to go back another day! lol. I loved the canoes there, I had a blast. And they have these souvineer (sp?) shops called the "trading posts", great place to pick up a dave crockett racoon hat! I spent so much time at the petting zoo, they have miniature horses for the kids to ride, plus a barn next door where you can walk around and see the actual horses that pull the trolleys at the magic kingdom! I also went to the campfire, I didnt have that much fun there, but maybe it was becuase Im a teenager, but all the kids seemed to having a blast. You will love it!

TRY HORSE BACK RIDING! WE DID IT IN JULY AND IT WAS FUN!
MY HORSE WAS NAMED DOLLY. THE HORSES ARE VERY TAME, AND THE CAST MEMBERS WILL TRY AND GIVE YOU A HORSE TO MATCH YOUR SIZE AND AGE. IT LASTED ABOUT 45 MINUTES TO AN HOUR.
THEY GIVE YOU INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE HAND, THEN YOU FOLLOW YOUR LEADER (A CAST MEMBER) THROUGH THE WOODS ALONG THE PATHS. YOU GET TO GO IN AREAS YOU CAN'T POSSIBLY SEE OTHERWISE. I THINK IT COST 15 DOLLARS. IT WAS REALLY SOMETHING DIFFERENT FOR A CITY BOY!!!!!!
HAVE A MAGICAL DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
