Sorry to deflate the imagination on this one, but WDW is lucky Pop Century even opened with the poor number of hotel bookings they've been getting lately. The opening was delayed almost a year because of low numbers and as I understand it parts of the resort are still not open (but I could be wrong).

But, yeah, it would be cool!

MD, actually none of Pop Century is open yet. I have seen reports that they are trying to figure out how they are going to hire the nearly 5,000 people they need to run the resort. Apparently, they would like to open it for this summer, but it looks like they aren't going to be able to hire enough people in time, so it may be delayed even further.

There have been talks about finally building Walt's dream resort which was a Venetian resort to be built on the monorail between the Contemporary and the Ticket and Transportation Center. It would be more expensive than the Grand Floridian, and hopefully, nicer as well. What would make more sense is to build a new resort that had a private entrance somewhere in the Magic Kingdom. Themed after Fantasyland, they could make it really neat, and basically charge anything they wanted to.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see them upgrade parts of the Movies resort with newer movies. It also wouldn't surprise me if they changed one of the other resorts, either Sports or Music into an extension of the Movies resort. It is always the first one sold out, and people will even pay more to stay there than at the other All-Stars.

There is some kinda major construction happening between The MK and Grand Floridian when I was there this weekend. I couldn't see any thing telling but wow, what a flooding of light for the night time construction crews. It was a whole lot of traffic for 9:30pm

From the positioning it would put it rather close to Floridian Way (the road) perhaps big enough to reach that river like waterway up the MK's left flank. This is of course almost opposite of the Transportation and ticket center area.

Wow, mickey. I was under the impression that it finally opened late this summer. I believe this makes the 4th time opening has been rescheduled. If I'm not mistaken (as I often am) Pop Century was supposed to open for the summer of 2001?
