Can anyone tell me about the Swan
I have booked the Swan for our upcoming trip. I have not heard too much about it, so any information will be helpful. On our last trip, we decided that we wanted to stay at one of the Epcot Gateway resorts. Someday I would like to stay at the Beach Club, but I got such an awesome rate at the Swan that we decided to stay there. It will be nice to be so close to Epcot and MGM, but we did not go into this hotel and check it out last trip. How is it?

Re: Can anyone tell me about the Swan
I have heard some really great things about Swann, and I've also been there. Its one of those resorts not owned by disney but a disney resort
you dont get all the benefits from being in the disney resort. I really liked it.

Re: Can anyone tell me about the Swan
I can't really offer any advise, but I just read in another thread that ddoll loves staying at the Swan. Maybe you could PM her if she doesn't see this thread

Re: Can anyone tell me about the Swan
A friend of our has stayed there and she loved it.
I can tell you it's really great to stay in that location so close to Epcot and MGM. You have so many options right from your resort.

It's so beautiful!!! The pool is beautiful and the lobby is incredible! Plus, you get the Friendship Launches, and you can enjoy all that Boardwalk nightlife! What a great choice, you lucky Pooh Fan!

Re: Can anyone tell me about the Swan
Is the Swan a family-oriented resort? As in, would a 10-yr-old think it's cool??

Re: Can anyone tell me about the Swan
We've stayed at the Swan several times. We love it. And we've brought our DS, who just turned 11, with us each time.
There are many plusses to staying at the Swan/Dolphin: the location is the best of all. The boats take you from the door of the hotel to MGM, Boardwalk, BC/YC, and Epcot. They are beautifully decorated. The rooms are gorgeous: very light and airy, lots of room, and they have Heavenly beds!! Service is top notch. I've met nothing but super staff in the resort who go out of their way to be accomodating. There's a Disney gift shop in the lobby. You have all the same services you do at a Disney resort except you cannot charge to your room key in the parks. And yes, you can have park purchases sent to your resort! There are 3 pools: two lap pools and one sprawling beautifully themed grotto pool with a waterfall and a slide. Two hottub/jacuzzis. They also have full service bars with food at the pools as well. There's a spa, a beach and swan boats to rent.

Re: Can anyone tell me about the Swan
I have stayed once at Swan and twice at Dolphin. They were rather nice, and compared favorably with the Boardwalk resorts.
Plusses: Location Lots of Restaurants Nice rooms Newspaper in morning Negatives: Not quite disney, you encounter some Businessy types No Dining plan $Pay to park Some tips: Ask for an Epcot view if possible, pretty good view in the AM Dolphin fountain (to left of escalators) is a great Ice cream and sandwich shop. Prices are comparable with off-world places. Good value at Gullivers Buffet at Swan. Check the menu as it changes theme. You can take any bus for Boardwalk, Yacht or Beach as well and walk if the wait is long for Swan. Ive had really good experiences at the Swan. |

Re: Can anyone tell me about the Swan
we stayed at the swan for our last trip and enjoyed it very much. though it is mainly for business purposes, so the decor is not very disney like, it is still a nice hotel. one of the bummers about the swan though is that if you have to do laundry, the facilities are at the dolphin. so's the food and beverages that you can normally get at the delux resort gift shops. that's my only complaint about the swan. other than that, it's a beautiful, peaceful and very convenient hotel.
