hotel room for 5
Hello, I am new to this board. My question is we are planning to go to disneyworld this summer (June). We really want to stay at the Port Orleans hotel. We have 3 teenage boys so the trundle bed is too small:cry: So my question is will DW allow us to use a air mattress and sleep 5 of us in there or will we have to suffer and pay a higher amount by staying at an upgraded resort like the Wilderness Lodge:laugh
Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Welcome to DisneyCentral! There is no reason why you can't get the room with the trundle bed and not use it. Disney has to abide by the rules set by the fire marshall, so they only have a couple of rooms at Riverside that they can sleep 5 in, hence the trundle beds.
Wilderness Lodge rooms do not sleep 5, unless you get a junior suite. Your only option if you have 5 is to get a deluxe resort room, other than Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge, a cabin at Fort Wilderness, a two bedroom villa at one of the Home Away from Home resorts or two rooms at a value or moderate resort. You may want to consider getting two rooms at the All-Stars. That way you can let the boys sleep in their own mess, while the two adults get their own room. The cabins are also nice, since you will have a kitchen, as well as two separate rooms.

Try THIS
I wish they would let you do that ...I have 5 in my family too.
My suggestion is to get 2 connecting rooms at a value resort. It would be less expensive than a 2 beroom suite at the wilderness lodge. (A 2 bedroom suite goes for 670. a night!)....And if you go to the cabins at the campsite it would be about 260 a night, but I am not sure you would be comfortable there. I believe there is a day bed there which I heard is on the small side, good for smaller children. Value resorts run between 77 and 124.00 a night. I hope this helps. |

Hotel room for 5
The cost of a cabin at the Fort Wilderness camground would be about $933.00 per adult (With two adults) and $298.00 per junior (10-17) for a five night stay (With a Disney package). These sleep up to six guests (Supposedly!)
To get two rooms at a value resort would be a little bit more but not much. I don't know about you but I think if I was in the same situation I would go with the cabin. I guess if you have adjoining rooms it would be OK but if I couldn't get two adjoining rooms (With a common door) I would opt for the cabin. Eitehr way yopu'll be inthe "Haapiest Place on Earth" and you'll have a great time. I think the cabins look pretty neat. I'm gonna try and talk my wife into doing them next time! :)

camptraveler, welcome to Disney Central!
Your question has come up on this board before. (Perhaps if you performed a "Search", you could locate the other threads. Ordinarily, I would look for you, but I am about to go out . . .) My suggestion to Folks needing room for five is to look into the Home Away From Home Resorts (Disney Vacation Club). Many owners rent out their points at a cost that is much less than booking directly form Disney. I rented points from an owner last year and was ablt to stay at Old Key West in a gorgeous one bedroom unit (very spacious, too) last August. My cost was less than half of what I would have paid by booking with Disney. There are many ways to locate potential owners willing to rent, including a link right here at Disney Central. There are numerous benefits to be had by going this route: you are guests at WDW so you are eligible for all of the benefits related to staying on-site and you have luxury accommodations without a budget-breaker cost. Good luck!
