Only 64 Days Out!!

Okay... just realized that I am 64 days out!!!

So... we arrive on Friday, April 28th... we will be staying at ASMO for Friday and Saturday... then moving to SSR for the remainder of the time.

So my question... When should I plan to be at the parks... what days should be our park days... Friday the 28th will not be a park day because we don't get it in till late... and we won't be rushing over to Chef Mickey we learned our lesson last time! So we will prob just hang by the pool on Friday when we arrive... or DTD... we shall see... we are getting 5 day hoppers... we don't fly out till late on Friday, May 5th, but I don't know if I want that to be a park day or not...

So what are the opinions out there???

Re: Only 64 Days Out!!

I like hanging out at the resort the first night if we get in late, but otherwise we head straight for the parks. If you are leaving late on the 5th, I would definitely make it a park day. You have to be out of the room relatively early, so why not go to the parks?

If you are leaving LATE on the last day, why not make it a park day? If you are leaving early, I say save that day for your next trip!

Ron, are you getting the dining plan during your DVC stay????????????????

Re: Only 64 Days Out!!

I'm not sure if you do the parks commando style or not but I would hit the parks first thing Saturday morning. Since it might be a little crowded on a Saturday I would make AK my first stop then hop over to another park later that afternoon.

I am considering the Dining plan... However we have two days that we won't have the dining plan... so I don't know what we are going to do yet...

Any help would be great... So you guys think we should go to the parks on the weekend?? We only have 5 days and we are there for a total of 7 possible days for parks... there is plenty to do without the parks, but I was hoping for a little more advise...

Re: Only 64 Days Out!!

I like your idea of staying at your resort the first night and getting ready for your park days.
I would still go to the parks on the weekend. The great thing about being on site, if it's too crowded for you, head somewhere else.

Saturday, would be a good day for Epcot. Weekends being more crowded and Epcot being larger.

Sunday - this may be the EMH - pm at the MK, if so you could head to AK Sunday morning, take a break then do a nice evening at MK on Sunday.

Have fun planning!!

Re: Only 64 Days Out!!

Ron:
I agree with your plan to take it easy on the first day. Especially since you are getting in late. I have never stayed at ASMO so I am not sure about what there is to do around ther except maybe swim. Maybe you can check out teh Boardwalk. We stayed there recently and walking it was allot of fun. we even rented one of those bicycles for the family and rode around the lake. The kids thought that was a blast.
As for SSR, that is our home resort with DVC. We have not stayed there yet but we took the tour and the pool there looks awesome. Definitely make some time to swim while staying there. Also, SSR is right by DTD so maybe you can work in a swimming/DTD day in the middle of your trip.
As for the park days, I would avoid MK on Saturday and Monday. I definitely think it is more crowded on those days. Of course your itinerary could depend on any AR's that you have made. Didn't you mention that you are going to CRT one day? I assume that would be a MK day.
Do you have any other AR's?
If not you should make a few just in case you want a meal lined up. It isn't always easy to get in as a walk up.
