WL non-park fun?!?!
So I'm sitting here at work trying to stay awake during the closing ceremonies, & I came up with some questions for our trip in Sept.:
1-Can anybody tell me about the nightly campfire & outdoor movie at Ft. Wilderness? What would be the best way to get there from WL? 2-Does anybody have an updated price list for renting boats & bikes from WL? 3-How's the bus service to the parks & water parks, not including MK? 4-How about info on the petting zoo & hayrides? Thanks for this, & any other info you might be able to pass on about WL. We're very excited about it, even though it's so very far away!!

Okay, here goes: 1. There is an internal bus that will take you from WL to Ft. Wilderness, or you can just take the Magic Kingdom boat--it goes to FW before it goes to the MK. 2. Check all ears--Deb sometimes has that info. 3. Bus service is decent. There was one day when we waited about 20-25 minutes for an Epcot bus, but other than that we didn't wait longer than 10 minutes or so. 4. Hayrides are $30, I think--at least carriage rides are. I'm not sure how much the Halloween Hayrides are (or even if they're going to be available this year), but you can call 407-wdw-play and find out. The petting zoo seems like fun--easy to get to from WL, of course. We just stayed at WL in January and loved it! Enjoy!!

The petting zoo is no more. It has been replaced by the Cinderella Pony Ride (allegedly, the ponies are from Cindy's personal stable).
We were just too busy to do the campfire this trip. Next time, we plan on doing more camping and less in the parks.

I don't have an updated price list, but do make time to rent the boats and cruise on bay lake.

A great adult activity is to take the WL Tour with Park Ranger Stan. One of the highlights of my stay there!
