I am looking for any info, hints, tips or budget suggestions for our upcomeing trip in June. This is the first time that we are flying with our kids, we usually drive everywhere. I signed up for the Dining Plan also. Should I ask for a specific section of CBR that is better for the four of us than others?
Any info is good info! Thank you, Anne

Re: First Trip to CBR!
I have never stayed at CBR but my general advice for moderates is to request a room near the main pool/check-in, etc.. Moderates tend to be a little farther spread and we ALWAYS appreciated a closer room at Coronado and Port Orleans.
Are you taking Magical Express?

Re: First Trip to CBR!
Trinidad North is close to the main building and from what I understand a decent location. I haven't ever stayed there. I'm just going from memory from posts that I have seen. The dining plan is a great way to go. Make srue you make advanced dining reservations for the sit down meals that you want to have. That will save you time waitng for a table.

Dear Wish,
Yes, we are signed up to take the Magic Express. We are also arriving at the airport around 10:30 am. My BFF suggests that if we don't plan on going to any of the parks that first day, that we pack our swimsuits in our carryon luggage. How long does it take to get your luggage and what time is check in actually? Anne

Re: First Trip to CBR!
Welcome to DC! We stayed at CBR a long time ago - but I still think their grounds are some of the most beautiful at WDW. As Wish said - with small children try to get a room near the lobby/main pool (pirate themed). Do you have the Unofficial Guide to WDW? It can be your best friend. Along with everything else, it tells you the best rooms to request at all the Resorts. Have fun planning! Ask as many questions as you have, someone here will always have the answer!

Pack your swim suit and a change of clothes in your carry on. Your luggage may take a few hours to get there. Check in is officially 3pm, but you may get lucky and get a room when you get there. Definately try to get a room and check in as soon as you arrive.

Re: First Trip to CBR!
Thank you! That same BFF told me I needed to get online @ DC for info I would use. She wasn't kidding. As a closet Mickey freak, this website could make me come out of the closet.

Re: First Trip to CBR!
Why would you want to recover? I can think of alot worse things to be addicted to. After all Mickey is one of my three heroes.

Re: First Trip to CBR!
You will love the CBR, next to the Contemporary it is my favorite. The only reason the Contemporary ranks higher is because it is within walking distance of the Magic Kingdom.

Re: First Trip to CBR!
We loved our stay at CBR last year. Had Trinidad North, Bldg 33, Upstairs. At first they put us in a ground floor in Bldg 32 (I think) in an inside orner. We didn't like that location as it was dark and the tall plants blocked any view. So we asked to be moved upstairs. It was only a 5 minute walk to the main theme pool and Old Port Royale. The small pool was a short 2 minute walk. And our bus stop was right out our building about 50 feet away. The buildings across the lake looked nice, but a little too far away from the main pool and food court. At night you can even see the fireworks in the sky from Epot's Illuminations from over by the Old Port Royale. One thing, we could not walk to the main guest house- too far to walk. On arrival they loaded us up in a van and took everything to our building. Did the same on departure. It worked out well. You will love the grounds and the kids will enjoy the pool area. I attached a few pictures. This year we decided to try something different, so we chose Coronado Springs Resort. Oh, and the buses were very reliable and we didn't have to wait long at all- 10-maybe 15 min. Have fun!
