Trying BWV this trip

Well, I finally reached an agreement to rent a studio at BWV for my entire stay. It wasn't as good of a deal as I had hoped for, but once I found out that all of the studios at BWV and BCV were sold out, I decided to go for it. I am paying the same amount overall that I was going to pay for the Swan--I just did not get to save any money. The good news is that we will get to purchase the Disney meal plan this trip. I am so happy not to have to budget and try to stay within that budget. The only disadvantage that I see is that we will not be getting maid service while we are there since we are only staying for 5 nights. Regardless, I am really excited to be trying out the Boardwalk Villas this December. For those of you who have stayed there, how is the transportation to the parks? Do you have to wait very long. I know that I can wakl to Epcot and take the boats to MGM, but how is the bus service to MK and AK. DH can not stand to wait in line very long without getting grumpy.

Re: Trying BWV this trip

Congratulations! I've never stayed at BW but when we stayed at BC we shared the DtD bus with BW, Swan, and Dolphin it wasn't a problem. It did take a little longer to make all those stops but it wasn't too bad.

Re: Trying BWV this trip

I'm being alot partial but we belong to the BWV and we have tried OKW - SS - WL and BC and we prefer our home resort over all the others. You will really enjoy the BW. Have a GREAT time.

BWV 1-Bedroom Sept. 26th. to Oct. 6th. MNSSHP & Food & Wine
BCV 1-Bedroom Nov. 29th. to Dec. 9th. MVMCP & Candlelight Processional

Re: Trying BWV this trip

Congratulations - I'm sure you're going to love BWV! The studios are very comfortable for three. It's nice have the "mini-kitchen" with a microwave and fridge. We've stayed there a couple of times and found that the transportation was just fine. Of course, we always walked to Epcot, it's much the fastest way. The buses to the MK and AK were fine - I don't remember any problems. I have a "problem" with boat transportation at WDW - those boats make me feel very nauseous, so I'm not a huge fan of any of them. I found that it was the most tedious transportation to MGM. It stops at The Swan and Dolphin, as well as BC. It takes a LONG time. It's about a 15 minute walk, if you choose to do that. We did - and I think we beat the boat every time.

Re: Trying BWV this trip

Here's a few transportation tricks for you:

Walk to Epcot. It's much faster and not far.

Sometimes the buses start at Swan and drop people off in a circle - BWV last! Get off at the Swan or Dolphin (I can't remember. Its the one right beside BWV) Go through the bushes, and walk the path back to BWV. Again, not far, and you get off sooner.

You can walk to MGM but it is a pretty lengthy walk! We go for the boat!

Just remember - you CANNOT take a bus from the front of Epcot back to the hotel. You MUST walk back through Epcot to get to BWV. We have made this mistake before.

Otherwise, have a super time! We love BWV!!!!

Re: Trying BWV this trip

Well, plans changed again. I had made a deal with a DVC member from another form and then she changed her mind because she felt she would be losing too much money. I did not want to pay more than I was going to pay for the Swan, so I had decided to stay at the Swan. then, another person let me know that for 75 less than what I agreed to pay the other person I could stay at BC. I know that I have heard such wonderful things about BWV, but our family loves the BC. We eat at Beaches and Cream 3-4 times each trip, and we love the atmosphere at the hotel, and the pool is really cool. I am so excited to say that we are staying at the BCV for only 10.50 a point, saving money, and we finally get to use the dining plan. Now, I just need to plan all those meals.

From the pictures on AllEars, I think the Beach Club Villas have wonderful decor. They'd be my first choice!

OK - now let's get something straight here, Pooh Fan. You are EXHAUSTING me. Good thing I've stayed at BCV too. Try and get a suite that faces Epcot - you can see Illuminations.

Re: Trying BWV this trip

You can't go wrong with the BC.
And you'll be right across from the BW area!

What can I say. I refused to pay an extra $150 when I was already paying more than I wanted to--especially when it was at the last minute. Our entire family has always said that if we could stay anywhere at Disney, it would be the Beach Club. We love the location, the pool, and Beaches and Cream. Right now, the owner put near the elevators and a high floor as my requests. Should I ask him to also add in my requests that I would like to face Epcot, or should I wait until check in to ask? How far away will we be from Beaches and Cream and the pool area? I'm just not sure where the Villas are. I have never taken the time to distinguish where the Inn ends and the Villas begin. Any information you can share about the BCV is greatly appreciated.

Thanks. I started working on this trip as soon as I got home from the last one. I can't believe we used to only go every 2 years. I am glad to see that you are going back too. When are you going to be there? I would love to have lunch or dinner with you if we will be there at the same time. Time got away from me on the last trip, and I regret not meeting up with you. We are only going to go for 11 days this trip. 3 weeks was nice, but a little long, and too many bad things happened to us last trip. Life creaped in on us I guess. I am really looking forward to this one. Since we heard that Universal is not as crowded as Disney on Christmas, we will be heading over to the Hard Rock Hotel after Disney and spend Christmas there. Not as magical, but I am sure we will have fun.
