Things to do on arrival day?
We are going to be arriving late in the afternoon and checking into the Pop Century. What are some fun things to do besides going to a park for late arrivals? We don't want to use park tickets for just a few hours. I was thinking about going to downtown disney.

We head to DtD also when we arrive late. It just gives us time to really get into the disney mode.

Boardwalk is a good option.
Or ride the monorail around & visit the resorts. DTD is a good idea. Minigolf Go to the campfire program at FW.

Cavey's suggestions are rockin' = the Monorail thing - esp. the EPCOT loop, is so much fun! You could do a character dinner at the Contemporary, and then do the EPCOT loop on the monorail...
OR - DtD, or the POP! has SO MUCH to do! The pools! The Goofy Water thingie! Lots of great stuff!

Depending on how you any kids you might have are, take the POP map they give you that shows you where your room is, then use it to go on a scavenger hunt. (OK, now let's find the mickey phone!!!) My 2 & 4 year-olds had a good time just running around the hotel grounds, burning off steam. Or, just go swimming, but remember to pack your suits in your carry-on if you're using ME!!! & at POP you can go find one of the Twister games they have!!

I'll be traveling with my mom 53, and my sister 23. Neither has been to Disneyworld before. They are riding down with me from Knoxville, and staying with me till I check into the college program. We only have 1 day to do the parks. I am taking them to Animal Kingdom for the day, and then World Showcase. Animal Kingdom was their first choice. Both are avid animal lovers.
