does anyone know where the breakeven point is between getting a park hopper pass and an annual pass??? is it difference for kids then adults???

I have purchased an annual pass for myself because i know that I will be making more than one trip to the area in the next year- one is a business trip(!!!!) and the other is a family celebration vacation trip in december.

I also purchased the annual pass for the discount opportunities it offers.

I am debating whether or not it is cost effective to purchase an annual pass for the kids and the rest of the adults that will be travelling with us in december. The information on park hoppers only seems to go as far as five days so it is difficult to tell how much it would cost for 9 or ten days.

if anyone can help me with this i would appreciate it.

It is my understanding the Park Hoppers only come in 4 and 5 day increments. You can purchase Park Hopper Plus tickets in 5, 6 or 7 day increments. You can get an Ultimate Park Hopper as part of a hotel package for as long as you are staying. I believe the break even point is somewhere around 8 or 9 days. If you are going for 9 or 10, then it is definitely in your interest to get annual passes. Besides, you could plan another vacation within the 11 months from now, and all your park stuff would be free.

One hint, become a member of the Disney Club. You will receive a $15 discount on each annual pass you buy, plus a bunch of restaurant discounts and such. You'll easily make back the $40 annual fee, and more to boot.

I need to clarify a point with you, please........if we stay for ten days and want park tickets for all 10 days then we HAVE to purchase the ultimate park hopper that comes with the room?? I thought the park hoppers could be extended to the number of days that you are staying?? I'm not sure where i learned that- perhaps it is old information.

I really don't want to have to get ultimate park hoppers because there are so many features there that will never be used.

It is my understanding that you cannot extend the park hoppers. I may be mistaken, but then again, I always purchase annual passes. Ultimate park hoppers are expensive, they include many extras, as you mentioned. I believe they are the only "adjustable" passes. You can contact the Walt Disney Travel Company at 407-828-3232. They can tell you for sure.

I would just go with the annual passes. You also get a discount if you renew your annual passes, so next time they will be that much cheaper. (Well, not cheaper, but less expensive!) Let me know what Disney says abot the park hoppers.

Nevermind, I just called. You cannot extend hopper passes (with the exception of the Ultimate) at all, under any circumstances. The only choice for nine or ten days is to get the Ultimate Park Hopper for your lenght of stay, an Annual Pass or to buy several 4 or 5 day park hoppers. The least expensive by far is the annual pass.
