Which DVC resort?
I know it's early to start planning, but we'll be visiting WDW next year over spring break. Being DVC members, we usually stay at the WL Villas and absolutely love it. It's our home resort, so we're able to book 11 months in advance. This visit we would like to try to split our week between the WL and another DVC resort. We were thinking about the Beach Club Villas. Any recommendations??? We won't be able to book a different resort until 8 months before our departure date, but we want to try as soon as possible especially since this is a busy time of year.

Re: Which DVC resort?
We've stayed at all the DVC properties at WDW and it's really hard to choose amongst them. They've all got something special. If you love Epcot, you can't get better than BCV or BWV. Personally, I think I like BWV a little better than BCV. Our suite a BCV was a little "worn" looking - which surprised me, because I've never come across that at any of the other properties - but maybe that was a "one-off" - Stormalong Bay is absolutely the best pool at WDW. OKW has the best suites, IMHO, but is secluded - (which is nice too). SSR is very nice and close to DTD. Decisions, decisions - but what a nice quandry to have.

Re: Which DVC resort?
We have stayed at a few DVCs. I think if you are going at a busy time of year, you will probably have a choice of SSR and OKW since these seem to book up last. Each is nice. SSR is a short walk to DTD. OKW has an easy going feeling. Each is nice.
We have also split trips several times and the kids love doing this! It's like two vacations in one!

Re: Which DVC resort?
We've stayed at SSR and BCV, and have also stayed at the Wilderness Lodge (not Villas) and the Boardwalk Inn (not Villas). Our favorites are the Wilderness Lodge and the Beach Club Villas, hands down! SSR is too far from EVERYTHING!!! and although the Boardwalk is beautiful and well-placed, the pool doesn't hold a candle to Stormalong Bay. Even though we're not DVC members, BCV has truly become "home" to us!

We've stayed at BWV and we love it... just like BWV, the BCV will offer that great location! I say you can't go wrong with any of them!!!

Re: Which DVC resort?
Since you'll be at the WLV, and close to the MK, I'd split with either BCV or BWV and be near to Epcot and the studios.

Re: Which DVC resort?
My vote is for Boardwalk or Beach Club...location, location, location.
Walking or short boat ride to Epcot & MGM, And the use of all the amenitites at BW, BC, and Swan Dolphin. Also a quick walk to those above mentined parks for meals and shows without a bus ride!! After a long day it is nice to be able to go out for a drink or quick bite to eat without having to hop on a bus to have other choices besides your resorts. And strolling along the boardwalk is wonderful. Since you are going during a busy period, if these resorts are unavailable, I would book Saratoga (quick walk to all Downtown Disney has to offer), and waitlist the Epcot Resorts. I have a feeling if you book early enough, what you want will become available before your trip. (no guarantees of course). I vacation with just my husband (no children) so maybe your needs are different...for us it is all about having the most available to us, closest to us, limiting those bus rides, and long travels for meals, or evenings out. The proximity of these resorts to Epcot & Mgm also makes returning to your resort for a break during the afternoon and returning in the evening MUCH easier. |

Re: Which DVC resort?
I'd definately go with BCV!!! It is by far my favorite resort on WDW property. We love to relax at the pool and DD loves to swim. The pool here is simply the best there is! Our 1BR villa was beautiful and definately not showing signs of wear. The balcony faced Epcot and we could watch the Illuminations fireworks from either our bedroom (lying in bed) or from the balcony. We could even hear the music. We also love to eat at Beaches and Cream. It's a good thing we had walkways to Epcot and MGM so that we could walk off some of that ice cream! We spend a lot of time at Epcot and it was extremely convenient with the short walk.

Re: Which DVC resort?
Didn't we just do this thread during the middle of the week? I think you'd do fine with either Beach Club or Boardwalk villas. The Stormalong Bay pool is pretty nice for kids, and I think that the BCVillas are the closest resort to the Epcot south entrance.
