Epcot Resorts question

As many of you know, we are staying at BCV for our upcoming trip. I have read that there is no transportation from the resort to the front entrance of Epcot. For those of you who have stayed at one of these resorts, how do you manage to get to the front of Epcot to ride TT, MS, and Soarin before all the crowds start coming--since you have to walk through the WS. We are usually waiting at the front entrance to get in for rope drop, and then we are the first ones on the rides. I am worried that we will be slowed down since we will be coming in through the back entrance. I am looking for advise/tips from those of you who have done this before. Thanks!

Re: Epcot Resorts question

Good question, never thought of that. I am assuming we'll have the same inquiry come August staying at the Boardwalk.

Re: Epcot Resorts question

We've stayed at BCV and the Boardwalk Inn, and although we've never been the "first" ones on the rides, we've never had a problem getting in line and on the rides quickly after rope drop. Entering through the WS gates is nice, too, because there aren't many people there and you're not battling crowds to get through the turnstiles. The positives of staying at the Epcot resorts far outweights this small inconvenience... .

If you're VERY concerned about being at the front of Epcot for rope drop, you can always take a cab from the Beach Club to the entrance... .

Re: Epcot Resorts question

I was going to also suggest grabbing a cab to the front gate area. I can't imagine it being more than a few dollars. You won't be doing Epcot every morning, so it won't be that big of a deal to spend a few extra $$ a day or two right? Another option would be to enter through the WS and hurry and grab a fast pass for the one you want to ride the most. If you get there as soon as the park opens, I think you will have plenty of time to get on the major attractions before the crowds get to outrageous.

We always stay at one of the Epcot resorts. I agree, there isn't any real problem getting from the International Gateway to the attractions.

I agree too - this wasn't a problem at all. Actually when you think about, by the time you get through all the front entry stuff, you're really no closer to TT or M:S. In fact, it might even be faster going through the International Gateway. You don't have to walk all the way through WS. You come in between Britain and the bridge to France. Just walk through Canada and into Future World. And you don't have to deal with the front gate crowds.

Re: Epcot Resorts question

I do believe it is much faster to get in through the International gateway, it's so much less crowded.
It seems to be just as close to MS as coming through the entrance, and it may even be closer to get over to Sorain.

Good point Buzz, arriving through a less crowded entry may just lessen the barriers between you and the attractions. That's if you can travel fast, hehe. Although, i am DEFINATELY not an EPCOT rope dropper I think entering in the countries is ideal b/c that's where I spend the most of my time there.
Although, it seems that if I EVER want to see this "Turtle Talk With Crush" I will have to BECOME a rope dropper! Maybe I will have better luck with the Cali version!!??

Is turtle talk that hard to get into? When we were there in Sept it was still closed for Refurb, and we couldn't even walk by the building because DD would have had a fit if she new Nemo and the gang were in there and she couldn't go. Should I make this our first stop in FW when we go back in December?

Yes, it has become very popular.
I would suggest getting there early (the first show starts at 10), or just be prepared to wait, and it is WELL worth the wait.

Re: Epcot Resorts question

Actually, when you come in the International Gate in the morning, you get a chance to have a look at Britain and Canada with no one around, as you walk through to Future World. World Showcase doesn't open until 11 a.m. It's kind of surreal, actually.

I liked walking through Britain and Canada to get to FW. It was so peaceful.

Re: Epcot Resorts question

I guess I will have to prepare DD that she may not be the first person to ride MS this trip (a very big deal to her) unless we can convince dad to take a cab to the front gates. I know you probably think that we are crazy, but once park commandos, always park commandos in some way. We have slowed down a bit and last trip we enjoyed having alot more down time, but we have always been and always will be the family at the front of the rope speed walking to our favorite ride. It is part of the fun for us. Is it a longer walk from International Gateway to MS and TT than it is from the rope drop area. If memory serves me correctly, I think it is. I wish I could convince DD that we could ride Soarin first and then head over to MS, but I am not so sure that will happen.

Re: Epcot Resorts question

Just be at international gate at opening time. Difference in distance should offset time to get through main entrance crowd.

You can also send the fastest person ahead with passes to hit the fastpass machine of choice. "Run Forest, RUN!"

Quite frankly - you'll have a much better chance of getting to M:S first that way. There are NO CROWDS. You'll walk (or run) through at the same time as rope drop and have a virtually empty park to run through - and thinking about it - I'd bet that M:S is closer to the International Gate than the main gate.
