I read many times how APers go for the "free food" promotion and just buy a 1 day ticket with the package and then just save it. Aren't the tickets on the room key? Can you get a ticket taken off the room key? Don't know if I'm explaining myself well.

Last year,I bought a one day ticket so I could do the free food promotion. The ticket was on my room key. I just saved the room key until it was time for me to use it toward the price of my AP.

You could use them on one of your black out dates.....hmm I see another trip report in the near future.

As mickaholic said, you can use them toward your AP renewal. Save the receipt. If you don't put it through the turnstyle, it's doesn't activate.

Oh pooh..that's right. I am thinking of the ol park hoppers where unused days were good until infinity. Sorry Erin. I didn't mean to tease you with a day at WDW like that. I am slow today apparently..lol

I can truly put it towards my renewal? In Feb? I will receive my tickets in Sept. and my renewal date is Feb 7.

Don't you actually have to use the ticket? What if you bought the one day ticket and never actually put it through the ticket thingy? What if you used your SP? Wouldn't the ticket then actually not be activated and therefore still be good?

Ok, the CM I talked to told me that my one day ticket will never expire. They expire 14 days after the first use, but since it's just a one day ticket, and it's not getting used, it won't expire. So, I can use it later in the year during a blackout period. That's very exciting!

She said I can't apply a one day ticket to a renewal - but, I'm not sure I asked the question just right. I think she thought I meant upgrade. So, if anyone is feeling spunky, they can try calling back and asking.

I asked the same thing when I booked the free dining plan & was told you can indeed put the 1 day ticket towards renewing your ap's.
We're actually putting 2 adults & 2 kids 1-day base tickets towards teh renewal of my AP, if we decide we will visit WDW again next year, a subject of a future thread!!

Well, I have a Florida Resident Seasonal Pass - which has blackout dates. It's alot cheaper than the Annual Pass, but the peak times are blacked out. Meaning, I can't go during those times.


When it's time for me to renew, I can put the purchase price of my ticket towards the renewal price - which makes my renewal even cheaper! (Which is cool, cuz you get a few dollars off when you renew anyway!)
