My ADR plans

I have spent several hours trying to figure out where we will eat while we are there in December. I have a little time to tweak the plans before I start making the ADR's. I am not completely sure I like the plans that I have right now, but I can't think of a better way to do it. All advice and suggestions is appreciated.

Dec. 16 MGM--MM Fantasmic Package latest seating time available for the package which I am sure will be early--it always has been.

Dec. 17 AK in AM and MK in PM--Donald's Breakfastosaurus--1st available seating. Then, CP for dinner with Pooh at 7 PM. This is an area that I am unsure about. We have always had breakfast at CP, never dinner. Is it ok? Since we have always gotten 1st seating of the day, we've always had a lot of characger interaction. Will this change if we eat dinner there. Also, since we are park openers, we usually eat early. 7 seems late, but to try to do as much as possible, it seemed like a logical time. Advice????

Dec. 18 Relax at BC during the day. Then MVMCP in evening. I've already made reservations for LTT at 5:10. We really liked it there last year.

Dec. 19 Epcot--Ohana at 7 PM. Once again, is it too late? We will be at Epcot at 7:30 for the 8 AM opening. Epcot closes at 7, so we thought we'd leave an hour or so before closing and head over to the Poly for our Ohana dinner. Suggestions???

Dec. 20- Open to do whatever we want. Chef Mickey's at 7 PM. This is our traditional last dinner at Disney. Once again, I have always made our ADR's for the 1st seating at dinner and the character interaction has always been great. Will I be disappointed going at 7 since it will be more crowded? We chose 7 so we could spend as much time as possible in the parks. Advice????
I am also thinking about making a breakfast reservation at CP with Pooh for 8:00 just in case we are disappointed with the character interaction we get there at dinner on the 17th. What do you think???

On the 21st, we will be moving over to the Hard Rock where we will stay until the 25th.

Re: My ADR plans

We have not tried Tchoup Chop yet, but Margaritaville is a must do at least once--usually twice each trip. I am thinking about trying Tchoup Chop for our Christmas dinner.

Re: My ADR plans

Definitely!!!!! I have been to 2 of Emeril's other restaurants. We love the atmosphere at Tchoup Chop. It is still pricey, but I think it is slightly less so than his other restaurants. The food is amazing, as is the service. Treat yourselves!!!

Chastmastr and I have had both breakfast and dinner at CP. We found the character interaction to be pretty much the same at both times. Enjoyed both. The dinner buffet is one of the better ones at WDW. The food is good and kept fresh. I think you'll have a great time there for dinner.

I think the 7pm may be a bit late. You are going to have an early breakfast and probally an early lunch..you may be half starved by then. It's worth the wait however. CP is a great time no matter when you go. The character interaction is always excellent IMHO.

Again, I think it's a little late when you are starting off so early, but this is another great meal that is worth being a little hungry for.

I think you will be happy with the characters at CP for dinner, but keeping the morinng open for a maybe breakfast can't hurt at all. CAn you have to much Pooh? lol I can't get enough of him or Eeyore. 7pm is definately going to be a bit more crowded than a 5pm dinner ADR, but I don't think you will have to much trouble. Just get there 15 - 20minutes early and you should be just fine. Remember, if you find that you are all to hungry and 7pm is to long to wait, you can check in early and get the next available table. I have done that many, many times with no problems at all.

Do you think we should change it to around 6:30 or should we just keep the 7, take advantage of our snacks on the DP to hold us over, and then if we just can't make it until 7 try to get in earlier.

I agree. My favorite and DD's favorite characters are the Pooh characters. I even have to get my picture take with them when we have breakfast at CP. I am getting so excited that it is almost time to make my ADR's. Right now, I am just tweeking the plans a little to make sure I have it just eh way I want it.

Re: My ADR plans

Your choices are great. We love Donald's Breakfastosaurus, although we are not early birds as you. We usually get an ADR around 8-8:30 and by the time we are done, Dinosaur has just opened and we miss the crowds.

Chef Mickey's should not be that bad with the characters at that time of night. We've gone a little earlier, about 5:30-6:00 and they spent plenty of time with the children.

Remember, if you get an early seating for the Fantasmic dinner, you can eat and go do other things before the show. We had a seating at 4:30. We ate, went to Sounds Dangerous, came out and found a great seat for the parade. We watched the parade, hit Star Tours, then the Indy show and were still able to take our time walking to Fantasmic hitting a Meet and Greet on the way.

How did you do that. Two years ago, we had the early dinner time at MM. I thought we would be able to ride some more rides before we headed over to Fantasmic. By the time dinner was finished, we were running across the park to make it in time before the 30 minutes before the show window ended. I knew our server was a little slow with things, but I just thought it was part of the experience. Maybe we will get a faster server this trip and dinner won't take 2 hours.

I.
No, keep it as is. If you get hungry at 6:30 and can't wait anymore, then check in then. Chances are good that you will be seated.
