WDW lost and found

I've read so many great things about WDW lost and found over the years but right now I'm not feeling so good about it.

I feel so stupid for doing it but I left my toiletries bag in our room at SSR when we checked out. It's a really nice LL Bean bag that holds a ton of stuff. I've had it for years and keep doubles of about everything in it. I can clearly see it on the bed in our room, I guess we both thought the other one had it when we left. Bell services came for our luggage and offered us a ride to the main building so we rushed out of the room with him and didn't check the room one last time since we had already checked things a couple of times.

I've been calling SSR every day since we've been home and they don't have it. I wasn't worried about it because of all the great things I've read over the years. I'll wait another week before I start to replace everything, including my really nice bag. I had all new makeup in my bag, that's going to stink to replace, it wasn't cheap.

Did they fill out a report at least? Maybe get you a follow up call?

I lost a pair of sunglasses a few years ago and thye never turned up either.

WOw! I am so sorry to hear that. WDW's lost and found is usually fantastic! They found DBF's jacket in our room at the AKL one year and mailed it to him for free. They even called us to make sure it was ours. I am sorry that housekeeping didn't turn that in for you. Replacing make-up is not cheap. I do hope they "find" it and that it gets sent to you. Please let us know how it goes.

So far I've made 5 phone calls and nothing. I'm going to speak the the manager by the end of the week if nothing turns up. I know for a fact that I left the bag on the bed so housekeeping had to have found it. Where it went from there I don't know. I hope no one would want all my personal stuff, that's just icky.

Are you sure it was at SSR you left it? Not the airplane? Just another thought.

Hopefully they've already sent it, and that's why they don't have it.

Thanks, Dana. All my make-up was new before we left, I hate the thought of replacing all of it, it wasn't cheap stuff. I'm not giving up yet, it may have just not made it to lost and found. The CM I spoke to today said she was going to look up who cleand the room Friday and see what happened to the bag.

We are pretty sure it was left in the room. We were sitting at the airport while Nathan was eating a Happy Meal talking about Mike going to pick up the car while I got the bags. He said I'll take the backpack and green bag and go get the car then we both looked down and no green bag. That's when we both realized that we didn't get the bag from the room.

OH Steph!!!! I hope they find it. It's going to be a bummer to replace all of that stuff!!! I have a toiletry bag that is always packed, too. If I lost it, I'd be UPSET! (btw, my toiletry bag ripped this past trip...which LL Bean toiletry bag do you have??? I'm in the market for a new bag!!)

We had better luck.At the Poly we left DD's life jacket. We called two days later from Marco Isalnd when we realized we left it there. It was sent to our home at n/c.
Hope it shows up!

Hopefully you will have better luck than we did. Our digital camera has not turned up yet, although we think it was stolen. We were in DQ and I had the camera and a shopping bag on the corner of the table at the computer. I had gone to the rest room right before sitting down and remember grabbing everything off the counter so I know it was there when I sat down at the computer. We think someone walked by and snagged it. We filled out a report and checked with L&F in DTD but nothing turned up before we left. I had more than a week's worth of photos....gone! We tried to back track and take more photos with the 35mm but not the same. I know now to keep a close I on my personal belongings now. Had to learn the hard way, unfortunately.

Oh, I love my bag like that (med size). I hope you find it. Of all things it does seem strange for someone to want to take your makeup bag and not return it.

WDW Lost and Found is usually great--but--i will tell you this..on our 2nd trip The Dave and I managed to leave half of our wardrobe in the dresser at POP Century..and us being the losers that we didn't notice until 3 weeks--yes 3 weeks--later when the lost and found called us....
so....it can take awhile..unfortunatly

My DH lost a pair of very expensive sunglasses during the Timon/Pumba movie at Epcot last year, and they never turned up either. The CM didn't seem all too concerned either. Oh well, it can't always be pixiedust and magic right...this is still the 'real world' I suppose, even if we try to forget that (or atleast I do)

That gives me some hope. I thought by Monday it would have may it to the resort lost and found but I'll give it some more time before I buy a new bag and start to fill it again.
