WL Room Question

I have a book that tells you the best rooms in the resorts for the various views. I was wondering if Disney still accepts the faxed requests. We received a courtyard upgrade last time, without asking but the room was facing the villas.( not that I am complaining) I would love to have one of the end rooms that faces bay lake.

Re: WL Room Question

You can always fax your requests (they may or may not pay attention), but I always call reservations to be sure my requests are on my reservation. I also call the hotel about 4 days before I arrive to confirm with the front desk that my requests are clear on the reservation information they have. Finally, you can always ask your check-in CM if certain rooms/views are available. You don't have to take the first room they give you.

Good luck!!

Re: WL Room Question

I think I've read that WL no longer accepts faxed requests but it doesn't hurt to try. For sure call and have it listed on your reservation.

We were upgraded to an inner courtyard view our first trip to WL and loved it. The next time we booked a courtyard view and were given a view of the villas, not so great. I asked the CM for an inner courtyard view the next morning and she was more than happy to move us. It was kind of a pain but worth it for that wonderful view.

Re: WL Room Question

I thought DH and I would try to get an MK view (if at all possible) or an inner courtyard when we check in. I didn't know you could request a specific room type when you call. I made my reservations online. So I guess I could still call? Do I call WL or the reservation number? And does anyone know the reservation number?

Maybe since it's our honeymoon, they'll give us a better room. We paid for a courtyard.

I just want to wish you GOOD LUCK with getting the upgrades you want! It doesn't hurt to ask very nicely at check-in.

I'll bet honeymooners get the best of all! If I were you, I'd tell everyone I spoke to that it was your honeymoon. And always remember, especially with Disney, polite and gracious requests go a long way.

Call the reservation number, the toll free number is 1.877.939.3732. I believe views of MK are woods view and it's cheaper than the courtyard view. It you booked a courtyard you might want to have a note added to your reservation that you want an inner courtyard view because a view of the villas is also a courtyard view.

When you call have it noted on your reservation that it's your honeymoon, you never know when that Diney magic will show up.

Re: WL Room Question

We booked a woods view at WL and I asked the CM at reservations to please add a request that I would like and MK view, and that I also wanted a room with a queen bed and bunk beds. When I got my confirmation, it was all right on the paperwork.

Of course, I'll be calling down a few days before arrival to confirm things a little!

Re: WL Room Question

Definately do not hesitate to get the room you want. I went through three rooms this past trip before I was given an acceptable one. First room assigned: solid balcony when I specifically requested not to have one. Didn't even go up to that room. Second room assigned: fifth floor room on the villas side but way up front so I could see: roofs, parking lot, and bus circle. No way! I paid for a woods view room and this is not acceptable. Third room: MK side, by the lake, could see the castle, fireworks, and boats on the lake. Thank you. Don't feel like you have to be stuck in an inferior room. If you book woods view, make sure you get an acceptable view of the woods, no parking lots!

Maelstrom,

I don't suppose you remember what room number you had, or what floor/area, do you? I already have a request in for an MK view, but the room you have sounds perfect. I would love to have that room on my request.

I sure do. It was room 4016. It is also a newly rehabbed room. I think we were the first to stay in it since the rehab.

http://webcookie.net/disney/walt%20d...20june%202006/ Here are my pictures from the trip. The view photo-stitch looks kind of bad and because of the lighting you can't see the castle, but I noted where it is. I don't think you could get a better view of the castle here. The trees are cut out just so you can see the castle, it seems.

To get to this room, you take the elevators by the snack bar, when you get to the 4th floor you hang a right, and it's on the left-hand side almost at the end of the hallway.

My only complaint about the room: there are no lights above the first bed. I don't know what happened, but they aren't there. But the light above the desk lights the room fine.

Re: WL Room Question

It's a shame but sometimes you have to be a squeeky wheel to get oiled. I HATE that, especially on vacation.

There are some L O U S Y views at WL. Yes, there are woods and between you and the woods is a parking lot a a row of dumpsters which by the way means backing alarms at 4am.

Re: WL Room Question

Thanks Maelstrom!

I don't like to be the P.I.T.A. guest either, but when I am shelling out big bucks for a big room w/a view, I know what I want. I have already requested a MK view room with bunkbeds. I liked the bunkbed ideas so DD can sleep in a smaller bed (on the bottom) since she would feel lost if I put her in a Queen, and we can use the top bunk to keep our stuff (i.e. bags of souveniers, backpacks, etc) out of the way, and keep the room a little neater and spacious. I would love to have a room like yours. The renovations looked great too.

Are they renovating all the rooms at WL?
