Yeah! I got DH to add 2 days to our Xmas trip!

So, after badgering my husband about how we really should extend our trip for December so we could spend more time at the beautiful resort (WL), he has finally agreed to add 2 extra nights on...so now it's 9 days/8 nights!

The only (mere) concession is that we are only getting 8 day park passes, as we plan on spending more time relaxing at our resort this time! I can definately live with that! Now, with that happening, it means my 180 day mark isn't tomorrow, it was 2 days ago! And the offices are now closed! UGHH! But I love the last minute plan/cram session I'm getting right now to set everything up to make ADR's tomorrow!

Hey, on a side note, does anyone know anything about Chip n' Dale's campfire and movie? I am trying to find the approximate timing of it, so I can make a dinner reservation early enough to see it (we usually eat late, so I'd have to make a point to eat early that night).

Awe, good for you! You are going to have such a great time! I don't know much about that Chip and Dale thing, but it sure does sound fun!

Good for you, PP!!!!! I was lucky enough for my DH to offer to extend our trip, too! We were originally going 12/3-12/8. Now we're arriving 12/3 and leaving probably 12/11!!! YIPPEE!

P.S. When you find out about that Chip and Dale movie thing, can you post it here??? That may be another fun option for my family in December, too

COngratulations! I always end up adding days on to our trips too. It drives my DH crazy but he's a softy not can't say no.

Wow, that souds great!! I wouldn't worry about not adding days on to the passes. You could probably spend the first day enjoying the resort and getting familiar with the place, and that would take up the whole day right there.

Check into the cost difference between the 8 and 9 day park passes...even if you won't use them the cost is probably a matter of VERY few dollars and you would at least have the option.

I found this on the Fort Wilderness Fact Sheet at allearsnet.com:

When does the campfire program begin and what is it like?

The campfire program is open to all WDW resort guests. It generally begins around 7 p.m. during the fall/winter season and 8 p.m. after the time changes in April through the summer. It is held near the Meadow Trading Post in the campfire area. The program begins with a sing-along led by a Disney CM and a marshmallow roast around two campfire rings. You may bring your own marshmallows or buy them at the Chuckwagon (roasting sticks and marshmallows are $2). You may also buy pizza, hot dogs, candy, nachos, juice, popcorn, sodas, coffee, beer and other refreshments at the Chuckwagon. While this is going on, Chip and Dale make an appearance to visit with guests and sign autographs. The sing-along lasts about 40 minutes. Next, one or two Disney animated features, depending upon the season, are shown on a large outdoor screen. Seating is available in bleachers or on benches. There is also plenty of room to lay out a quilt or blanket. The movie schedule is posted at all comfort stations. In the event of rain, the sing-along is still held on the porch of the Meadow Trading Post.

The campfire sounds cute. I think Cavey did that with his family.

I was also surprised about the park passes. It was about 4 dollars between the 5 and 6 day pass for us!

Congratulations!! It really is nice to have a little time in the trip where you relax and don't go in the parks. Our family enjoyed playing miniature golf on one of our off days. It is also nice to sleep in and enjoy the resort or resort hop to check out other resorts you might like to take on future trips.

I suggest that you look into buying the 10 day passes with the no-expiration option if you know you are going again.

If you aren't going to use all the days this trip, this is the most cost effective option! You can also add the option towards the end of your trip, if you like. But the no expiration cost is based on the # of days on your original ticket. We did this in October and have tickets left for the next 2 or 3 trips!!!

Yay! More time at WDW is ALWAYS a good thing! And spending a little more time relaxing and enjoying the resort will be really worth it!

I wish I could make myself slow down a little more, because the few times I have, I have really enjoyed myself! There is so much to enjoy outside of the parks! I hope you guys have a wonderful time.
