Are you allowed to take these home?

We asked our mousekeeper a couple of years ago and she said they were her gift to us and that we could take them home. I picked a couple of our favorites and left the rest.

Really? They're towels. Isn't that like taking a ...towel...?

My wife, bless her, uses this trick: she carefully unfolds the towel step by step and takes pictures with her digital camera along the way. View the pictures in reverse order you have a step by step how to!

ps: I've heard people who tip housekeeping get more towel animals.

Towel Animals is a must have.
A great reminder of WDW and mousekeeping.
I am planning on tipping daily hoping that they will leave each DD one.
And hopefully one for me.

I think getting them is just luck of the draw. We've tipped and not gotten them and my in-laws forgot to tip and they got them and we were right next door to each other and we had a child in our room.

We tip everyday, no matter where we are. Some days/resorts make them, some don't. I really think it's dependant of who your mousekeeper is. When we were leaving to go home one time the mousekeeper was in the room next to us. She came running after us and asked if we took the towel animals she made us. We said we had left them, she said "No, no, no....those are for you, I made them for you" We did as DT did and picked our favorite to bring home. They are still in my bathroom!

I thought you weren't allowed to take them either. At least, not for free anyway. I thought you had to be charged for a few wash cloths if you took them, haha. I'll know this time if I get any I really like. I still have a picture of the Mickey & Minnie wash cloths from last year at FW. She also made Chicken Little for us.

We even reserve extra suitcase for the trip back so we can fit all of them in. We usually get them, but only after asking for them. They look at us kind of funny (since no children travel with us), but we tip well at the end of the trip. And if you can't be a kid at the "World," where else can you be?

Our trip last year was our first time at WDW resort and we stayed at CBR and we got an animal about everyother day. They were so cute, but DH wouldn't let me take them home, so I only took like two and hid them in my suitcase, I want to know because we are going in January again and I want to keep them all!! LOL!!! We tipped $150 on the last day should we tip every day instead?

That's a nice tip! I tip every day because I'm not sure if the same person cleans our room each day. Most of the time it is but she has to have a day off some time.

Since I travel so much for business, I leave a small tip everyday.
Besides I am always asking for one thing or another...

our housekeeper told us we must keep them and we had quite a few, I once took pictures for DC as we had some really very well made ones, sadly they have all been unfolded now as they got kind of grubby and with all the little stickers and bands they were difficult to wash, she used to line them up in the window at POR for when we came back-
