Re: tipping housekeeping?

I'm impressed! Before we were married my DH used to wait until he ran out of dishes before doing them. Don't even get me started on the shower.

...and please, plain old cash.

Tipping with Disney Dollars requires the employee to exchange them 'cause you can bet your tip is going to the local Safeway, not somewhere in the 'world'.

We normally leave it in the middle of the table by the door. The table is useally the staging area for what we carry in to the parks so after packing the table is clear and we place the tip...which useally magically turns into an animal by the time we return.

Re: tipping housekeeping?

We nrmally do the same... $1 per person/per day. This trip there will be 6 of us!!!

I read somewhere (I can't remember the name of the thread) that it is easier if you make up your "Mousekeeping Envelopes" early and just leave one for each new day.

We are now DVC members, what would everyone recommend tipping since we only get service halfway through?

I normally leave it on the stand between the beds or the dresser. Almost any obvious place in the room so it won't be missed.

Wow, RTG! Those are pretty cool. Thanks! Now if I can just figure out how to make my printer print on envelopes, I'll be fine!

Re: tipping housekeeping?

we left ours by the sink because there was a little welcome card from housekeeping placed there, and we sort of leave the card propped behind the tumblers.

Re: tipping housekeeping?

As many other one here, I tip every day. Mousekeepers for your room are the not same everyday. I always tip $1-2 person per day or a flat rate of $5 a day for me and DD for really good service. Definately tip daily, not at the end of your trip. Try to put in an envelope marked "housekeeping". I have left just loose dollars in the past and came back to find them still sitting there. I think if they are unsure if it's for them, they leave as to not accidently take money that wasn't meant for them. My DD and I either print out or hand-make special mousekeeping envelopes and decorate them with disney stickers. I always include a personal note of thanks as well. Tipping is great and tipping plus a thank you is even better.

If you can't figure it out, or can't make the images fit well, you can always just print the images, cut them out, and glue them to the envelopes.

I always do it that way so the images are really big.
