No 1 night stands?!?

Just wondering, does Disney not book rooms for 1 night on the weekend?
I attempted to switch my free dining pkg. to go from 9/20-9/30 instead of 9/21-10-1 & add a single room only night at the end for sat. but was told there were none available. When I checked online, I could not book only for Sat., 10-1 but could book for 9/27-10/1.
I was able to book a single room for 9/20 & leave the pkg. 9/21-10/1, but would of rather started out with the package.
Any thoughts?

Re: No 1 night stands?!?

That's strange but I've never heard that Disney doesn't book rooms for one night. I'm pretty sure we booked a room at Pop for a weekend night a couple of years ago when we decided at the last minute that we weren't ready to leave.

Re: No 1 night stands?!?

We've booked a single night on the weekend several times...we usually split our stays between DVC resorts and another resort during our stay. Weekends "cost" more points at DVC, so we transfer to a moderate or value...never had a problem before. Keep trying!!

I've booked one night on two different occasions, and didn't have a problem either time.

I just did it last month, as a matter of fact!

Re: No 1 night stands?!?

Whew! I got concerned when I read the title of this post. Discussing one night stands on Disney website? Oh my!

We've stayed only one night in a resort too. No problem there.
Could it have anything to do with the rate season changing?

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that! I read the first few posts and wondered if my mind was just in the gutter...

Sorry to threadjack, I'll return you all to the matter at hand!

Re: No 1 night stands?!?

bribert, in order to get dining for the extra day, you'd have to rebook the whole package. Even if you were able to add 1 day separately (room only) to the end of the stay, your dining package would still expire at midnight of the last day of the original stay. In other words, you could not carry over dining credits into that one additional day.

Re: No 1 night stands?!?

Because we arrive the day before the free dining plan starts, we've booked a single night, followed by 9 nights including the dining plan. I'd try to speak to a real person, I'm sure they can help you.

I always picture this mass of DVC members, checking out on Fridays or Saturdays and making a pilgrimage to AllStars, all of us muttering "must save points, must save points".

Re: No 1 night stands?!?

I booked a single night at Old Key West for New Year's Eve with check-out on New Year's day. Later, when I discovered I wouldn't be able to get my dog from the kennel on Jan 1, I booked a single night room at Caribbean Beach for check-out Jan 2.

Re: No 1 night stands?!?

I've booked single rooms in the past... I haven't heard of them creating a "no single night booking" policy, but anything is possible... But, I have noticed that what you see online and what the booking CM's see don't always match up exactly either...
