Re: concierge

For starters, all of the deluxe resorts have concierge. It's possible that one of the moderate resorts does, but then it might not be considered a moderate.
Deluxes- Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Poly, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wilderness Lodge (this is supposedly a limited concierge).

Re: concierge

We've stayed on the concierge level of both the Grand Floridian and the Boardwalk. We LOVED the GF concierge. The CMs were unbelievable. That was our first on-site stay. In retrospect, they got us reservations that I know understand to have been on ridiculously short notice and ridiculously popular restaurants.

The Boardwalk, not so much.

Re: concierge

I have plenty of planning time- im just concerned about getting CRT on my birthday. It happens to be the first day that we will be there so Im a bit worried with the new adr rules that it might not happen. That would royally stink! I figure that since I want to stay at a nice place for my birthday that this would be an option to look into.

Re: concierge

Woohoo, the GrandFloridian has a special floor within their Concierge level. This requires taking a second elevator that only goes to that floor and that, I think, only guests with rooms on that floor have a key to.

The rooms all face the castle so you get a great view of the fireworks at night. If you're going concierge, I'd highly recommen GF and if you're going GF concierge, I'd highly recommend that floor.

Have fun, and Happy birthday in advance!

GF is my dream hotel- unfortunately because Im a family of 6 it may be out of my price range. Unless I can find some way to miraculously get a discount (or dream come true...)

Re: concierge

There is a concierge desk and staff at POFQ..I saw it. I am not sure what their purpose is because POFQ doesn't have a concierge building, but it is there. Perhaps they just help with tickets and booking ADRS...I'm not positive.

Perhaps a glorified Bell Captain station?

To tell you the truth, I have no clue what-so-ever. I seen people over there talking to CM's and the desk clearly said "concierge" on it. I just didn't know what one would need it for at that resort. It didn't even occur to me to ask...I had everything I needed before going there. There is a bell captain station though, so I don't think that is what it was. They had computers and were assisting guests....don't know what they were assisting with though...I really need to ask questions when I notice these things...bad dana.

Re: concierge

Hello WooHoo, Dana et al
At WDW concierge has TWO meanings:
Concierge LEVELS at the deluxe resorts are in the best locations, have a light food area (continental breakfast, juices, snacks) and a dedicated concierge desk. Concierge level guests sometimes have access to things other gurst do not, for example, only AKL concierge guests can book the pre-park open safari at AK. Concierge levels at the deluxe resorts add usually more than $100 per room per night to rooms that are already high priced.
Other resorts like PO have a conceirge DESK in the lobby for all guests. They can help you with directions and ADRs. This is a concierge service similar to hotels everywhere. There's no reason to think they have any special access to anything.

It stands to reason GF concierge level guest MAY have access to hard to get res - they're certainly paying extra.

You've already said GF is money you do NOT want to spend. I think it's an amazing blessing that you'll be at WDW on your birthday with that gorgeous gang of humans in your avatar - even if you don't get CRT.

Remember: Stop at Guest Services (the Town Hall) and tell then it's your birthday. They give you a "It's My Birthday" badge (free) and you'll get extra greetings from CMs (and guests) all day long. Even if you don't get near Cindy's YOU will be the princess.

Re: concierge

Once when I wore an "It's My Birthday!" button, a group of CMs working the queue at TMAOWinnieTP approached me. One of them said, "one, two, ready sing" then they all sang:

"This is your birthday song. It isn't very long-"

and they all walked away.

My DW fell out laughing.

Re: concierge
