Welcome! you will love this place, everyone is very friendly and helpful. The all-stars are very affordable but you will need two rooms. Only 4 people to a room there. Also if you watch the home page here if any discounts are available, Mickey will list them. Staying on site is waaaayyyyy better than off in many cases. There are though, great places to stay off site as well.
Good Luck,
Angie

Fort Wilderness Cabins Sleep 6 and actually has enough space for 6!

You can keep an eye on everyone.

Full Kitchen.

Great resort for Kids.

Car is parked only ten feet from room.

You can bring your own food, drinks. Eating meals at the cabin has a high potential of saving money.

Parents can get a room to themselves, with a door. Could be important.

Check into it.

Hi Mark,

Most rooms have a 2 double beds and a day bed. I believe they only do 5 people. There are suites in some of the hotels, but they get pretty pricey. Wilderness cabins are pretty close. So you are still in the midst of things. All stars will be the least expensive. This site will give you lots of information, just ask!! Enjoy the planning!!
I forgot to add, check with mickey at mouseketrips. There's a link
on Disney centrals home page.

You could also check into renting points from a Disney Vacation Club member. You may be able to get a one or two bedroom condo type unit for the same price as two rooms at the All-Star resorts.
You'd have to explore the DVC discussion forms for more info on that.

And, if you don't want to rent points from someone at a Disney Vacation Club resort, you can just pay to stay there, like a regular hotel room. They have 2 bedrooms with a full kitchen, which may still end up saving you money.

Angie is right, try to stay on property if you can. It is so worth it. It will make your vacation sooooooooo much more exciting!

Go to www.wdwig.com and check out the accomidations section. You can see how much rooms cost (keep in mind, these are "rack rates", which is the highest rate they usually charge. With a package, it will usually end up cheaper, or with a discount code.)
www.wdwig.com is a wealth of knowlegde, which includes room layouts, resort layouts, pictures of resorts, ALL the restaurants at WDW, along with MENUS and Meal Pricing. And more! Check it out. It will really help you plan your trip, Along with the folks here at Disney Central.

Also, go to www.disneyworld.com and go to the section marked "reservations". Go to vacation packages, and then do custom package. You can pick a resort, select your travel dates, pick your package, and then be quoted a price on it. (Don't put in any credit card information, unless you actually want to book it, at the end of the quote process). Other than the DVC resorts, you can do the Fort Wilderness Homes (which look really nice) or the Wilderness Lodge with a party of 6.

Have fun planning!

Welcome to DisneyCentral. Technically, you could stay in a room at Port Orleans Riverside with a trundle, since the 2 year old would be considered an infant. It would be quite tight. I would suggest instead either two rooms at the All-Stars, you can get them connecting, or a cabin at Fort Wilderness.

Of course, you could also do any room at a deluxe except for Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge, but that is going to be much more expensive than anything else.

The problem with the villas is that you would have to get a 2 bedroom villa, a 1 bedroom will only sleep 4. That could get quite expensive. If you are going during this summer, you could get the All-Stars for about $130 per night including tax for both rooms, or the cabins for about $190 per night including tax. The cabins are very nice, and they do feature a full kitchen, so that could save a lot of money just doing breakfast each day.

I agree, get two CONNECTING rooms at a A/S resort. You'll have MUCH more room and the price will almost be the same as getting one at POR.:D

Hi, Mark...and Welcome!

In my experience:

We stayed at Port Orleans when my little boy was 4 months old...and not yet mobile. The rooms at a moderate resort are tight. We had 2 double beds and a crib (provided by the hotel) and nothing else would have fit in this room. I could not imagine having 4 kids in that small of a space.

On the other hand, we stayed at the BoardWalk Inn this year...and my boy is almost 2. Plenty of room! We had 2 queen size beds, and a sofa bed plus a tent. You could fit 5 people plus a baby easily in this space. The room was 390 sq ft, among the largest standard rooms on property. We went in the off-season and got a great deal, $200 night for a single, standard room.

If that is out of your budget, we have stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott at Downtown Disney for $80/night. It is only a short walk to Downtown Disney and provides bus transportation to the Ticket and Transportation Center. The rooms were large and had 2 queen size beds, plus lots of floor room.

By the way, I highly recommend staying on property... and don't forget the tent!

Homes near Disney rent for as little as 6-700 a week and have 3 or 4 bedrooms. You can make breakfast and prepare snacks or lunch to bring with you. You could also have dinner, do laundry and swim whenever you want- all the home rentals have pools. It's not onsite, but if you must go offsite it's the only way to go. Try the web for sites with names like 'home rentals' etc. I can't find the info on our last house rental 2 years ago. Good luck!!
