Early Check In

Heading down to WDW Dec. 7, 2003 and we have reservations made at POR. Considering its "off season" and less crowded, what are the chances of having an early check in before 3:00? I would love to check in early and have more time to start the fun that day, and considering that I'm going to be looking into flights in the near future, I'm wondering if I should chance it on an early morning flight hoping that we will be checked in early.

alexa1466,

I think it's very random, but I say make that early flight. That's what we're doing, and we'll let the resort hang on to our luggage while we hit the parks.

We did this last year... They gave us a room key when we checked in and a phone number to call later in the day. We called later in the afternoon, got our room number, went directly to the room, called for our luggage...done! Doing it like this, we gained about 6 hours of 'park time.'

Bruce

We did the same, coming in at 9am. By sheer luck, one of our two rooms was ready, and we loaded all of our luggage in it and went to the parks for the day. It was fantastic!

As Bruce said, even if your room isn't ready, they will hold on to your luggage for you. If you have booked tickets as part of a package, you can check in and get your park passes even if it is just past midnight.

Can anyone help me end an argument I am having with my husband? I told him I believed that last time we went to WDW and stayed on site we were able to check in our baggage first thing in the morning and go ahead and use our length of stay passes starting that morning before we actually "checked in." He swears that we will have to wait till we actually check in to get our passes. I am about to give in and just purchase Florida Resident passes instead of 5 day length of stay just to end the argument....:dazed

depends on what types of passes you have. If you purchase the passes prior to going to WDW (Say at the Disney store) you can start using them as soon as you arrive. On the other hand you can go to your resort as soon as you arrive at WDW, check in even if it's before 3PM and have them stow your lugage and then go right to the parks and start using your passes.:)

CoastieMom, welcome to DisneyCentral.

You are right, you can drop off you luggage and get your park passes and hit the parks without actually getting your room. You will have to go through the check-in process.

Florida Annual Passes are a great option, and will also get you better rates at the resorts as well.

Thanks for the info....I would do the Florida Resident, but the pass with the water parks is about $160 more per person than the Stars and Stripes length of stay pass for 5 days. I am not sure if we can get back down to WDW again this year to make it worth the extra money...... and that money would go toward a whole lot of "Magic" while we are there this time.....

Thank you Again....argument solved.....:laugh

Coastie hi there is another florida annual pass that does not include the water parks it just has the four parks on it ( its the one I own since our family is not a water park family ) If you need a water park then maybe it will be cheaper to buy it seperately than all on one pass . the only problem is if you would want more days on the water park or if you want PI or Disney Quest

alexa1466,
We stayed at the A/S Music resort last December and we were able to check-in to our room approx 10 am. If not the front desk will hold your luggage til a room is available and deliver it to your room.:D

we arrived at CRB at about 7am, our room was ready, and we were on our way to the parks with a length of stay pass!! The next trip we checked in about the same time, at the Beach Club, but our room was not ready, so they held our bags for us, and gave us a card with the number to call after 3pm. We were off again!!

My DH always books us on an early flight. So, what I've done in the past is, a couple of days before we leave I call the Resort that we will be staying at. I then explain to them that we will be arriving early on ( whatever the date is), and I would very much appreciate it , if our room could possibly be ready??? Of course, they will tell you they will do their best, but for us it does work. Infact, this past Nov., my husband and I checked in early, and the room was ready. So, in May I'll try it again, and only hope it works!!! If not have the resort hold your luggage, and hit those parks, and start having fun!!!!!! :) JOANN
