Internet access

Hi all,

Does anyone know if there is High speed internet access or even internet access in the rooms at the Saratoga Spa and resort? Just trying to cover my bases in advance. Even though I am going on vaction, I run a small business and I have to be able to check in.

Re: Internet access

I was told that they all do. I think they said $9.95 per day.
Why don't you just call the hotel.

In the same vein, anyone have experience with the wi-fi access at the Beach Club?

Re: Internet access

Both Saratoga and Beach Club have in room high speed. All resorts now do. The cost is $9.95 for a 24 hour period, and is billed to your room. I used it for a week at the Beach Club Villas earlier this year, worked great. You just need a cat5 cable to connect your laptop to the port in the room, but our room had one in the closet, though I brought my own. There is also wi-fi in the lobby area, though it is not included in the plan, so you would have to pay for that in addition to your in room.

Re: Internet access

Well, I don't know if I'll be paying $9.95 /day for access but I'll definitely have my new laptop. Need to download those daily Disney pics from my also new camera. Or I could use my new camera phone...yes, I've been spending too much money lately.

Re: Internet access

I don't know what your personal situation is, but we have a wonderful device from Sprint that goes into our laptop. It's a network internet card. This card works kind of like a cell phone, anywhere you have cell phone access you can log onto the highspeed internet. This has proved priceless for us on trips. On one trip we were stuck in a horrible thunder and tornado storm in an area we didn't know very well. We were able to pull over at a rest stop and check the weather radar on the spot to find out if it was safe to travel. It cost about$60 a month and I think other wireless providers have it too. You can use it anywhere including in WDW.

I am not sure on that. I never used my laptop on the wi-fi, though I saw people in the lobby areas, but not by the pool. I would assume it works out there, since it is next to the lobby. Wait, I do remember people at that quick service restaurant/bar out by the pool using laptops, so yes, it works out there.

What I usually do is since the fee is for 24 hours, I will sign up one night late, use it that night, say at 11PM. I then have access that night and all the next day until 11. I don't sign up again until the following night late, so I only pay every other day, but really never go a day without access.

Unforunately most hotels still charge that amount (at least, that has been my experience; highway roberry). I often do what Mickey does -- log on every other day. But I am a geek and have a blackberry, so it is not as critical.

BUT, note to all blackberry users, I have had problems with coverage in MK (oh darn! ).

Re: Internet access

Well, it would be great if all cell companies allowed you to use your phone as a modem but I know Verizon, which I have, does not. That would be the perfect solution.

Re: Internet access

Just left Saratoga Springs yesterday, yes HSIA in room and yes 9.95/24hrs. The price is ridiculous, on 13 day stay spent $130 for internet, I can get a year at home for that. When I stay at cheap hotels on the way to from Disney and for work Internet is usually free!!! The price is ridiculous.

Re: Internet access

WOW, that is outrageous. You'd think for $137/night (I paid less; package deal) at CBR that it would include free internet.
