Coronado Springs??!!

Woo hoo!!!! We just got an e-mail from Mickey and found out we can upgrade from PopCentury to Coronado Springs for our trip in December! And, for less money than we were paying for PC! Okay, stuff like this never happens to us . . .

Guess there's some Disney discounts goin' on for December and we are lucky enough to benefit from them.
I know nothing about Coronado Springs except what I just read in the Unofficial Guide and Passporter's Guide. If anyone out there has any input, I'd love to hear it! When I asked DH if we should upgrade his response went something like this:

"Let's see. You want me to upgrade to a nicer resort. And pay less money for it. Exactly what is the question here?"

That translates to: upgrade, for cryin' out loud!

P.S. I love Mouseketrips . . .

I stayed there in January. It's a great resort, although it's also a convention center, so there may be some business types around, but hopefully that won't bother you. The main pool, The Dig Site is great, and the quiet pools are very nice as well.

For dining choices, there is the Pepper Market, which is a unique counter service, and the Maya Grille is a decent sit down.

I would recommend you request a room in the Cabanas section, since it's close to El Centro and the Dig Site.

One great thing is that over Christmas, there are no conventions, so just families going to the parks.

The Coronado is such a beautiful, relaxed resort. It is quite large, but I didn't find the walking bad at all. Request the section Cabanas 9B - it is the perfect location. But even if you don't get it, it won't matter - every section of the resort is gorgeous. Enjoy it!

the Pepper Market has SO many choices - and very YUMMY food! A step up from food court fare, in my opinion

The rooms are a nice size, and the resort is very relaxing and romantic

Mickey, are you able to pass on to the general MB'ers how you were able to do that? As I made my reservations yesterday for Dec. for All Star Sports, I would not mind upgrading to CSR if it is possible

Well, being from FL, your best bet is going to be the FL resident rates. However, check the new discounts, some dates have crazy discounts for moderates. Smee57 had a value at full price, they were sold out with the discount, so upgrading to a moderate at the discount was cheaper.

All of a sudden I'm pumped up for this trip again. Well, not that I was ever unpumped. It's just that it seems so far away that I kind of put it in the back of my mind. All of a sudden it's at the front again!

Smee that is GREAT news!!!! Amen to that: upgrade, for cryin' out loud!

I think you have officially encountered one of the best feelings in the world...when we upgraded from CBR to the Poly for only an extra $9 a night, we couldn't stop dancing for WEEKS!!

And to think...you're upgrading for a DISCOUNT!!
