My brother called back last night and, as I posted earlier, the AKL standard room for $134 was not available. He priced some other deluxes..of course all $$$$. So he went to book a moderate and for that weekend all that was left was POR. All the other moderates were completely booked! I knew it was going to be a crowded weekend but geez!!! He did book it so he is set. He also booked a long weekend in October and all that was available was $115 per night at CBR. All the rest of the moderates were booked.

So anyone who wants to go and hasnt booked for the fall or winter better hurry. Not much left.

MVMCP has become very popular

It is the weekend that the Christmas parade is taped for tv

I think it is some type of event at the Sports complex: either football or cheerleading.

Really, In all the brochures I have read they list the first two weeks in Dec. as one of the slowest time of the year.

Yea, the pop warner thing is going on from Dec. 3 - 9th, and also Mousefest. It will be a busy week.

the NASCAR busch and craftsman series will be hoilding their annuual banquets at the GF on the weekend from 12-7 thru 12-9.....

Pop Warner and MouseFest are always that week, but the crowds are STILL light compared to the rest of the year. It definitely has gotten more popular though!

I am renting points and staying at SSR right now. I REALLY had my heart set on BCV or BWV, even WLV. But they are ALL completely BOOKED for that week!!! I am still on a waitlist, but I don't have my hopes up that a room will be available for those dates.

All in all, it's a WONDERFUL time to visit WDW.

I am not going this year, I have been a bunch of times before and it is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! This year, I have a 1 year old in tow and I KNOW she wouldn't handle being at the park until midnight. Heck, last year my just turned 4 year old fell asleep at about 9!!!! (we were at MNSSHP in October) He missed A LOT of the festivities. So I think I will wait until he's a bit older and can stay up later. (He's done 4 of these parties already, so he's not deprived! LOL)

But if ANYONE questions whether to go to this party or not, GO!!!! It is AMAZING!! And you get free hot chocolate and sugar cookies ALL NIGHT LONG. It is SUCH a fun night!!!!!!!

Could it also be a question of the discounted rooms are the ones that are taken, and there are rooms at regular rates available? I know when the codes come out, they always say limited availability.

We have been in early Dec the last 2 years, and it was definitely much less crowded than it was in Sept. or June.

The MVMCP is a great time!

We are not going to MVMCP this year. The last 2 times we went to WDW DS did not even make it to see the parade or fireworks. He ALWAYS falls asleep around 8pm. Even last year at 4 yrs old! lol He just is exhausted from our day in the park. We probably will see the MGM Osborne lights though.

is the MVMCP as good as MNSSHP? we went last october, and had a blast (hurricane wilma included and all)

I can't compare the two, we have never been to a MNSSHP, but I can say the MVMCP was worth it for us. The crowds were so light, we actually had rides like SP & BTMRR that had no wait times. I love the parades, the atmosphere at night. We make sure we take it easy during the day, and then we make it through the night that way. My boys don't nap anymore, but we do rest & swim.
