Which WDW resort in December?

I'm look for suggestions as to which resort to stay at in December when the parks are decorated to the nines with Christmas decorations. I've never been to WDW that time of year, and the trip would not be until December 2007.
I love the Polynesian, but my mind is open to staying at a different resort next time (I say that now but I'm seriously addicted to the Polynesian). So I'm looking for opinions as to the best resort to stay at when WDW is dressed for Christmas.

The Wilderness Lodge says "Christmas" to me. I haven't stayed there, but it's my dream resort for that time of year.

Re: Which WDW resort in December?

I don't have first-hand experience, but the 2 resorts that are always most heartily recommended at Christmas time seem to be the Grand Floridian and the Wilderness Lodge.

HOWEVER...the Polynesian always gets hearty recommendations too, and if you're seriously addicted...well...I know how that feels. The Poly's just fabulous! And I'm sure it's equally beautiful at Christmas.

Re: Which WDW resort in December?

I've not stayed at any of them, but I've toured all of the MK resorts at Christmas. I'd have to say GF or WL are the prettiest.

Oh, Boardwalk is beautiful as well.

Re: Which WDW resort in December?

Haven't got to stay there yet, but just based on theming, I think the Wilderness Lodge would be a neat cold weather resort (assuming it's cold this December in Orlando).

Re: Which WDW resort in December?

I have stayed at the WL at Christmas time, and I am biased, but it was absolutely breathtaking. I would do it again, if I had the chance.

Re: Which WDW resort in December?

We were at the Boardwalk last year around Christmas time. It was beautiful, but didn't say "Christmas" to a northerner like me. This year we've booked the Wilderness Lodge for December. It doesn't get any cozier than that.

Re: Which WDW resort in December?

We once stayed at the Floridian and thought it was beautifully set up. Big Tree! This time we will be at SSR. Hope it's just as nice, will inform later.

Re: Which WDW resort in December?

The more I think about it, the more I would recommend the Boardwalk.

I'm thinking WL...but, Boardwalk would be a very, extremely close second...

Both are SO beautiful at Christmas.

Re: Which WDW resort in December?

I went park hopping on my Christmas trip last year... The breathtaking hotels were the Boardwalk, the Poly (), and the WL! There's probably a few more but my memory is kind of jammed right now.

Grand Floridian is so incredibly beautiful, and at Christmas, it becomes even more incredible! Ther eis even a life-size gingerbread house constructed inside the lobby! The GF Christmas trees are incredible!
And I have neve rbeen to Wilderness Lodge at Christmas, but i can imagine how fanstastic is would be, as well!

Re: Which WDW resort in December?

For christmas? I would definately say WL with the rest of everyone else. To me, that is what christmas should look like. Just reminds me of an old fashioned christmas by the looks of the decorations...very warm and inviting.

Re: Which WDW resort in December?

WL is apparently very popular around the holidays. We're booked here for 12/8-12/16 and there have been no standard rooms left for a long time (my MIL decided she wanted to try and tag a long). Then when the Season of Dreams discount came out, there were no discounts for WL. I guess since it is so popular, they feel they don't need to discount it.
