Question about Bayou section of POR

We are planning a February trip and trying to decide which section of POR to request. Three years ago, we stayed in the Mansions section and loved it. This time, I'd like to consider the Bayou section but my wife isn't too crazy about the "rustic" of the beds and furnishings. Someone has told us that the Alligator Bayou buildings that are closer to the Mansions section (e.g. buildings #37, #38 and #39) are "less rustic" than the lower numbered buildings and may have furnishings that are a little more like that of the Mansions section. Does anyone know if that's true? If so, it would be a great compromise. Thanks.

Re: Question about Bayou section of POR

I just took a peek in my unofficial and it doesn't say anything about less rustic rooms in that section. It does reccomend getitng a building close to the main area where you check in however. Apparently, some of the rooms can be a hike from the food court/ dining area.

Yes! Definitely do this. You don't want to end up getting a late snack at the food court after a long day at the parks and find that you're legs have fallen off.

No, no don't do that. Get buildings 27 or 28 and on the second floor you'll feel like living in a treehouse. They are tucked in behind MissDisney's buildings.

Re: Question about Bayou section of POR

I love love loved staying in the Bayou (except for the standing water everywhere... yikes in mosquito season). But, then again, the furnishings were "cozy" to me. I loved them. No idea if they get less rustic as you go up in number. I think the buildings themselves get less rustic (in line with the whole stoy of the resort, i.e. as they moved up the river they had fewer high-end materials to build with, etc...), but not sure about the furnishings.

Re: Question about Bayou section of POR

I just stayed in the Bayou section for the first time (had to get a room change, but more on that in my trip report which I will work on this week). Anyway, I had always been turned off by the "rustic" look of the rooms, but they are actually much, much nicer in person than they look in the pictures I have seen online. I really enjoyed staying there though our room was a little bit of a hike from things (Building 37).
