Were to stay in December

Where would be the best place for a single traveler to stay Dec 26 thru Jan 3. Disney's All-Start Resort with the Silver Dream Maker package and standard view for 2082.52 or at CBR with the regular package and king bed view for 2292.68. This will be my first time to WDW in 23 years. Also, If anyone has other resorts that they could recommend, pleace let me know.

Thanks,

Jason

Jason, welcome to DisneyCentral. With those two choices, I would go for the All-Stars, since that package will include most of your meals. There are some positives to staying at a moderate over an All-Star, but as a single, you might enjoy the All-Stars more. While all the resorts are decorated for Christmas, the deluxe resorts are really decked out. Wilderness Lodge would be my choice there, and it usually isn't too much more than a moderate.

Just make sure to take advantage of discounts that will come out. While most likely there won't be any for the first couple of days, there should be for the last couple. During 2002, they had discounts all the way through Christmas day. Assuming it is the same as last year, if you arrive on Christmas, even if it is at midnight, your whole trip will be discounted, and will end up being between $300 cheaper at the All-Stars and $500 cheaper at the moderates. You could probably stay in the Wilderness Lodge for less than your CBR quote.

Have fun planning.

Thanks

Thanks for your information. I am leaning towards All-Star Sports Resort, but have not made my mind up yet. Any one else who would like to chime in please feel free to.

Thanks,

Jason

Made a decision

I have decided to stay at the All-Star Sport resort Dec 26 thru Jan 4. The only decision left is do I go with the Silver Dream maker package (2111 w/ perferred room and airport transportation) or the Gold Dream maker package (2679.52 w/perferred room and airport transportation). I am going by myself so I am not sure which package would be best for me. Any information would be great.
